any chance of the GT2's at Donington?

I have set this weeks race as Silverstone, but I will include Donni in the championship.

My current plan for the AC Sunday night Championship is as follows:

Cars:
  BMW M3 GT2, Ferrari 458 GT2 and Corvette C7R.

Format:
40 minute races. No pit stop. 15 minutes qualy sessions. Qualy starting at 8.15pm UK time.

Schedule and track List:
  Imola                      19th July
  Donington                2nd August
  Spa                        16th August
  Paul Ricard               30th August
  Mugello                    13th September
  A1 Ring                    27th September

Does that sound good?

I am unsure about adding pit stops as I am not sure how well AC handles pit stops. If anyone with experience using pit stops in AC multiplayer can inform me of how well AC handles stops, then let me know please. Judging by the number of people that show up for the fun races, I would say that any race length of longer than 40 minutes would be too much. Everyone would be too spaced out if the races were longer.

I could not find Slovakia Ring for Assetto Corsa and Moscow Ring seems to only be exclusive to a DTM season mod for AC that is available. Lets hope that changes in the near future.

I think the car choice is OK for a first season but, it is not ideal. The C7R seemed quite slow for me, I am much faster in the BMW. The C7R felt like it had less effective tyres. Is there any way to check which cars have which tyres? I think we should use different cars in future championships.

i would be happy if only 30min. races without pitstop,
40min. is so hard for my front tyres in GT2 cars without 'ABS, i do not like this massive rattle rattle on my wheel if i got front tyre dead (or what name is, punture? flatspot?).

but i can not every race make in summer time.

I wouldn't add pit stops yet, they do work, but it's a bit amateur hour on them without yet more mods.

40 mins is fine for now.

I think the point is that you need to try and learn to not lock your brakes up. You can't just hammer the brake pedal, you have to learn to use it like the olden days! Tongue Try not to brake and turn at the same time and don't be so heavy on the brakes. No ABS is great test of skill imho and the ABS cars are making things too easy.

Nice set of tracks to run GT2, looks good. My only request is can we bring the session forward to 8pm instead of 8.15? Just easier on the domestic side to have our fun then spend some end of weekend down time with other halves/family after, especially on nice summer eves. Smiley

I liked the pitstops personally, they worked well in the ESRA series I raced earlier in the year. It is very easy to flat spot a front on these gt2 cars and a set of meds will be pretty shagged after 4mins! But as shark says, can be considered part of the challenge otherwise.

Alternatively (if you're lucky enough to have another half) tell her you have to go racing and leave her to it whilst telling your child you've got "stuff to do". Smiley

Unless you foresee a sharp upturn in attendance, 30 minutes seems a better option.
40 minutes has always been a bit of a 'meh' format, it's too long for a sprint & the only part of endurance it caters for, is the last 10 minutes are usually dull (unless you've started with a 20+ grid) & typically you remember the end of your race.
Dullness is not something that attracts drivers ("hey everyone, come & do a sprint race with us, it'll be great apart from the often dull end bit..." Wink )

p.s. I've got it, is there a handy thread that guides through the install/config process at all please?

For the people who are not doing the GTR2 race or other league racing this sunday, this might be of interest to you.

I can no longer organise the AC races on Sundays. Sorry about that. Sad

I would like to continue but I am currently spending all of my free time with first person shooter games at the moment. I can not give the AC event admin job the time that it needs. If anyone else is interested then let me know. Perhaps we could give Race Room a go at Sundays?
