Season 28 Historics Trophy - Round 8 - Mosport

Onwards to Canada, and racing at Mosport Park, most recently just run in the 69X series. Iestyn leads the championship closely pegged by Doni and Cookie, with Dave Rainier and Tristan just behind, with less than a win in points to 1st!

The first ever Canadian Grand Prix was held at Mosport in 1967 and was won by Jack Brabham.  The circuit was used again in 1969 in a race won by Jackie Ickx.  Jackie Stewart crashed out after tangling with a back marker.  More like something you would find in a GPL race than a real F1 event!.

This race is for cars with engines less than 3L in displacement.

Nobody is restricted to a chassis as there's all to play for the last 3 races.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

This season, races are to be run at 60 frames per second – please use this patch 60fpsV2newmod.

Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score.

Race List = iGOR
Server = UKGPL_9
IP address = 37.157.48.87
Race date = 30-06-2015
Race Time = race starts at 21:30 UK time (21:30 GMT)
Qualifying Time = Between 30 and 60 minutes, starting no later than 21:00 UK time (21:00 GMT)
Track = mosport (papy)
Variant = 66F1
Damage Model = Pro
Race length = 32 Laps (40 to 50 minutes)
Password: see above

Replays Available here

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page.

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Moderating The red zone will be fully moderated from the start to the exit of Moss 2 (i.e. second Moss right-hander) on lap 1.  Other moderation will be on reported incidents only, however any incidents that occur in the red zone that are not reported by the drivers will be reported by the moderator.  This will allow all affected drivers the opportunity to present their case before the incident is moderated.  This should ensure there are no surprises when the moderator's report is published and hence appeals will be less likely.  If you haven't received a PM about an incident before the link below the results table is removed, you can be sure that you will not appear in the moderator's report.

Wont be around for this one , in fact I won't be around for a good few races , had my all new singing and dancing pacemaker installed today been told " no driving for 4 weeks " and about 6 weeks to full recovery , something to do with not disturbing the wires connected from the pm which control the rpm of the engine !

In the meantime you lot will have to find someone else to use for lappery practice  Wink

Take care and don't bounce off the rev limiter until you've run the motor in Wink

yo  Wink

....well, no handicap for this race will give me no chance at the champ :'(.......

"The first three races will not be handicapped and after that the top three drivers in the championship will be limited to a slower car subject to thirty point margin over the next driver . If handicapping is in action then handicapped drivers will be notified in the race post. ".......

so I have 57 pts delay on Iestyn....
    .........33 pts on Doni....
    .........26 pts on Cookie......

    so it's not very clear for me !??..........."the top three drivers in the championship will be limited to a slower car subject to thirty point margin over the next driver ."......who is the next driver of who Huh...... angel

You're confused, Tristan?  Make that two of us.  I never really have gotten my head around exactly what is meant by the 30 point differential.  I just show up and drive.  I've been running the Eagle(Group 1)for the nominated races even though I haven't been obliged to do so.  Will do again for this race.

The implementation of handicapping rules has never been one of UKGPL's strongpoints. As soon as they are agreed and announced at the start of a season they are modified or ignored at the first available chance  Roll Eyes  Such is life.

More importantly rest up and see you back on track soon Bernie.

Think you need to deduct the 2 lowest scores from each player

So the points as they stand now are .......

1st Iestyn 195
2nd Axel 193
3rd Doni 172
4th Tristan 167
5th Rainier 158
6th Evil 125

unless my calculator needs a new battery  Wink

Forgot to say thanks for all the good wishes chaps  Smiley

Quite so, Bernie.  A player's two worst scores will be discarded.  That said, I wonder why one each of the worst scores in the 2L and 3L divisions weren't nominated instead a blanket two scores?  As it is, one might use two 2L or two 3L finishes to drop.  Just sayin...

The main reason handicapping hasn't been really enforced is because it's been that close that based on the thresholds for those handicaps it would not really take effect. Next season the cars all get mixed in together, so that will cause its own set of problems that handicapping would not really help out!
