S28 - Friday Trophy - Round 19 - Sport Cars - Bikernieki

The last track of this season will be Bikernieki 68 - Circuit of Speed.

Complex include four different couses: "long circuit" (5495 m), "circuit of speed" (3662 m), "circuit of skill" (3580 m) and "small circuit" (1,7 km). Width of "circuit of speed" 10 m, other roads - 8 m and starting zone - 20 m. Some curves has profile with 1,5-14% cross slopes. The relief of road is hilly, with a noticeable height difference.

Congrats Axel, Martin!

Axel made it much easier for me than I thought he would. I thought it would be extremely difficult to win with the Mk. 1. My plan was, be consistent and hope Axel's slipstream would keep me close. It didn't take very long for Axel to make a mistake that let me get away.

Excellent time in qualifying Axel! It was better than my Ideal lap time in pribluda at the end of qualifying. I did manage to get my Ideal time down to 1:25.00 before the race ended but I could never string together an excellent lap to get close to that time.

The Mk 1. was really weak on race fuel. I struggled for a long time to get a lap under 1:27 during the race. The Mk. 2B was much stronger while heavy on fuel. I was running 1:25.5's with close to 50 liters of fuel while practicing in the 2B. There was a lot more left in the 2B compared to the Mk 1 too. I thought the Mk. 1 would be easier to drive over an entire race since I couldn't seem to do more than 4 or 5 laps in the 2B before I'd have an accident. However the 2B much was easier and faster through the left hander with the big hump. I guess it's heavy weight kept it glued to the track better?

I was fairly consistent the first third of the race but I think I was losing my focus with Axel falling so far behind. Had Axel been consistent and my consistency remained the same I would have got beaten severely.

On the technical side, I was getting some stuttering here like I did in the fun race in the 66s. To start the race, I turned off all of prib except the track position display. I don't remember much if any stuttering in the race. I had even forgot to load the 60fps profile in CCC, so I was using 8X Antialiasing, supersampling instead of multisampling, and no triple buffering. Eventually I'll upgrade again to a FX 4100 or FX 6300 cpu and 2X2GB or 2X4GB of DDR3 1600 and I should be in real good shape then.

Yes Axel, I use the D3DV2 rasteriser. OGLV2 wasn't working correctly. Whenever I would exit the car, all I would get would be a black screen. GPL would still be running though because I could hear the other cars still going in the replay window. The new video drivers fixed that but now I have another problem that keeps me using D3DV2. When I change the prib font size in prib.ini it has no effect in OGLV2. The sector times display hides the chat display. I might use OGL if I could reduce the font size in prib. With my old 9500GT video card, I always preferred OGL but I've been using nothing but D3D since I started racing online.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the racing. I do wish we had higher attendance though.

You know that some people are different
Now ain't that a crying shame
Now wouldn't it be a real drag if we were all the same
