Mediocre for me, the Honda felt nice but seemed very slow...

Rob - Have you checked your Vsync settings for the 65 mod? Getting them wrond can cause mini-stutters like you describe

Ah yes, we both have the same card now.. I turn off F5 and F6 which can be the main cause of mini-stutters when it's in conflict with the red text or something to do with the track (amount of objects?). This is on OGLv2. Should we be running V-sync? I'm clueless on it but don't run it after hearing about tearing and input lag on iRacing (and I might have the tearing the wrong way around). I felt responsible for that mess which put you last so I had to wait!

PS. Tim, what happened to your old card in the end? Find a loving home?

Edit: No wonder I drive so bad when I'm not getting a full 60 fps then Tongue

GPL with 60fps needs Vsync!

If you have other apps just make a hotkey in CCC to switch it on and off Wink

Still got it collecting dust Iestyn Smiley

If you run GPL at 60 FPS with V-sync turned off all sorts of wierd stuff happens!
Same occurs if running at 36FPS with it turned on though so it's always worth checking before each race  Smiley

Err.. should that be enabled within GEM,  or under the GPU control panel (nVidia here)  or both?
There's probably LOTS of articles around;  but is there a "definitive idiot's guide" ?   Smiley

Cheers,
Dave.

I have both Vsync enabled in CCC and Rasterizer...without it the images are distorted, distracting...

Right now I'm pretty sure the mini-freezes are a result of the cracking sound. Looking into it. Cheers. Wink

I have Vsync set as "application controlled" in CCC and checked in GEM. Make sure you have triple buffering enabled in CCC when you're using Vsync. If you're using Prib, do as Iestyn and I do and try using the F keys to turn off some of the displays. On some tracks, especially with the closed body cars, I'll only display the track position board to help me avoid collisions. Anti-Aliasing (set in CCC or NVidia) and Anisotrophic Filtering (set in GEM / rasteriser) have a huge effect on frame rate. The lower each are set the better the frame rate.

60 fps, use triple buffering and vsync. 36 fps, no triple buffering/no vsync.

Thanks buddy Wink

Have both Vsync and triple buffering on in CCC and  Rasterizer. I actually have FSAA to 4x in CCC and AF to 8x (both CCC and Rasterizer). In game the antialias in manadatory grey/unchecked. It's just at Schottenring (ofcourse no cars around) everything went smooth IIRC, but at 65 Glen I got these mini-freezes. I will lower FSAA and AF first now.

I'm suspecting the crackling sound has to do with it, but not sure. It's not a consistent problem so far, offline seems better, need more races to determine. I can get used to the little crackling, but not the mini-freezes. Normally, when things do not go right, or you suffer from bad luck in a race, most of the time the steam comes out of my ears, but then the adrenaline is mostly used in a positive way. This stutter thing is just plain depressing...

I recomment to test the new CCC 15.7, it seems to be a good one even for older GPU Smiley

For 60fps with OpenGL
I use the Vsync enabled in CCC and GEM+,
But I disable triple buffering in CCC and enable trilinear filtering in GEM+

AF and FSAA are set to overwrite and the values depend on the GPU
The AA mode is set to supersampling

In GEM I set "use zbuffer" - "zbuffer with grouping"
