S28 - Friday Trophy - Round 16 - Formula 2 - Le Mans Night (nbsarthe)

The penultimate track of this season will be classic Le Mans.
We will be racing at night.
Most famous race in the world is probably the 24hours at Le Mans. It has also hosted several Grand Prix including the first ever - the French Grand Prix of 1906. The Grand Prix name ("Great Prize") referred to the prize of 45,000 French francs to the race winner. The franc was pegged to the gold at 0.290 grams per franc, which meant that the prize was worth 13 kg of gold!

Remember: for the LIGHT drivers the most popular car will be dropped for the rest of the season! Look at the bottom!

ONE reset is allowed but the Shift R must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane within TWO laps.
If you Reset on the last lap a 30 second time penalty will be awarded if you cannot s+g before the finish line in the pit lane.

Drivers must complete 50% of the race distance to score.
Please check the Season 28 pages for details regarding rules and the Friday Trophy pages in particular.

Impossible to make the 275kph without tow...

Been missing the F2's - have signed up for Le Mans Night - if you don't mind a late arrival.

I don't think GPL can do that. Might be a more serious issue with your machine?

Had great fun today, thx Greg and Axel.

Congrats Axel, Dean, Fran! Excellent job Axel. I expected you'd be very difficult to beat.

I wasn't expecting much out of this race. I finished about as I expected. I needed a better frame of mind to stay close to the leaders until the end. I'm very pleased I didn't really hit anybody. I may have hit Dean when I crashed out of the race but since it didn't hurt his positioning, I'm happy.

I needed to be much more patient and careful to have a shot at a lucky win.

The first time at Mulsanne was a bit humorous. Nick and Fran collided in front of me opening a hole for me to drive through. I thought I was going to take the lead but realized I misjudged my braking and didn't think I could make the turn. So I decided to follow Dean straight. I thought that would get me out of the way of Axel before he started to turn. I laughed at that point, thinking, I might as well join in the mistakes like many others.

Only reason I could keep up with Dean was he seemed to make a mistake (spin?) shortly after I would.

Excellent fast lap Axel! You must have caught the tow at a good point. In qualifying, I slowed to let you catch me. Since I didn't think I could get pole position other than sheer luck, I thought I could help you to get it. In helping you, it actually gave me a much better time than I was expecting.

Thanks guys. Once again, I hope we can get a larger field next race. It's a shame Dave R and Walter didn't make it. Iestyn and Clive would have likely put me down two more positions.

You know that some people are different
Now ain't that a crying shame
Now wouldn't it be a real drag if we were all the same
