Test the track you race on please. This one was a waste of time.

Care to explain? Because I did spend a great deal of time testing this track and found no issues. Huh

Whoohoo, I won  thumbup2

In what turned out to be a battle of attrition and penalties, I dragged my beaten up Beemer over the finish line first  walkman

That was actually a really good race for the first half of it with lots of action, and then more like an endurance race for the second half just trying to keep the car quick as possible without damaging further. Lots of people visited the Wall of champions   Grin

...where's the champers?  Smiley...two Legends on the podium!  Been a long time since I could say that  Cool

For a change the game didn't crash, just lied to me about how much fuel I needed Sad Game suggested I was good for ~24 laps, so I ran out in 17.5

Still considering I had never tested the car, and hadn't driven a lap of the track until 5 mins in to practice this evening, I guess I can't moan the game is carp at guessing fuel usage.

my fuel was spot on. Did you do the rudimentary min 2 laps to get a fuel calc with your chosen setup?

You have to or it tells you to do 2 laps first. I checked it a the end of Practice. I think I had done 6 laps then

I've had some spectacular crashes when I've just slightly brushed against the wall. In real life it would be just scratched bodywork but in AC its a full on roll over!!

I hit a few walls and ended back at the pits, its more so the bugs in the track than AC.

well done to those who made it to the finishing line

Well that was an interesting start of my AC career for the Legends team. Could not find the spare time to do the necessary practice after my DTM race at NoGrip last Sunday. At least i had already made a base setup for this beemer before, so it was just a matter of getting to know which way the track goes.
I had only seen it on tv from the V8 Supercars, not driven it myself before. And as my little girl didn't felt the need to go to sleep right away (and wife was out) i could only just manage to get everything setup for qualy. Used that to learn the track, sorry if i got in the way on this tight track.

Took it easy at the start and slowly started to up the pace, but made sure to stay away from the walls. Suddenly mid race i found MJ, Spanner and ChrisT on my front bumper. Overtook the last two and tried to follow MJ, but he was just to fast. Spanner was looking faster too, so when i got it a bit out of shape into the first chicane, Spanner got the run on me.
A big cheer for MJ's win. thumbup2 Nice to be there with you on the podium mate!

I like how this car feels in AC too, just like the old DTM Merc i drove last Sunday. AC seems to be good at letting you judge the variations in grip levels through the bends. Looking forward to the next race.

You can't blame a track for driving into a wall now can you  whistling
I like the track and yes there are bugs in it and the damage physics of AC isn't great, but it still was fun going around.
I had a good run and only Pete was in a slight mistake distance. Unfortunately I crashed by turning in to soon in the fast right hander. I clipped the wall and then grazed the other side, from there I limped to the pits and do some repairs. The repairs were just done before I got lapped by Pete and from there I just floored it to try and catch any who was in front of me. Alas I only got to see the back of Chris T at the end of the race. Grats MJ for the win and P1 in the standings and all who made it to the end.

I should probably post this up now.

I've got another 3 race series planned for after this one, but that's the last I'm doing. I'm looking for someone to take over my role here - don't worry, it's easy enough to learn. I'm just not feeling any enthusiasm for the way the races here are turning out. It's not the same as it was back in the GTL days, and personally I think it's all the worse from it.

So I'll be taking a break from SROU for a while. I'm happy to post the rest of this series and the next one, if necessary, but I'm not racing anymore and I'm not setting anything up past those.

If you're at all interested in setting the races up, PM me.

Sorry to hear your not organising anymore Tibs, probably understandable, but why are you stopping racing too? Sad

yeah, sorry to hear that Tibernius. I do hope you will find your "racing mojo" back soon. These race games are just to much fun.

If you are looking for the GTL atmosphere you might have to look again at the GTL section here. It has got some good vibes back and rather good grid sizes since the start of this year too.

Well as noted before this time of year is always bad for turnout. The 235i cup looks very nice, maybe we can extend the rounds in this championship into august? Then to think about new series to host here. I will post some of my ideas in the other AC section this week then.
