(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the rules about in-game chat messages. (3) You will need to install Race Room Experience from Steam, and have the Euro Track Pack (4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit. I thought it was a free weekend, so everyone will have access to the track and cars. Did I misunderstand?

No, you understood perfectly. I can't be there, but GT was keen to do this, so I have.

Thanks Matt Just to clarify, you don't have to buy any content for this race as it is one of Raceroom's promotional free weekends which begins Friday evening. You will however need to download and install the base game from Steam which you can do at any time (15GB download). Car choice is any car from the "GTR3" class. These are all GT3 cars: Audi R8 LMS Ultra BMW Alpina B6 BMW Z4 Chevrolet Camaro McLaren MP4-12C Mercedes Benz SLS AMG. Some hints and tips here for those new to RR: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=13168.0

Ok I've installed the game and might try and give this a go. Many thanks to the efforts of those on here in promoting and putting this together as if it wasn't for that (and the free weekend..) I wouldn't have bothered with this - that "virtual currency" puts me right off from the start..
Not guaranteed to make it as I can see it will require some careful negotiation, probably involving missing (or postponing) the F1 race. That will be my opening gambit anyway..
But it's downloaded and installed, and now to try and get things configured - No time right now but I'll have a look at it later. Hopefully there will be a few others that can make the morning start.

I can't make it sadly as I'm out for the day. Shame as I would like to have seen a direct comparison to AC's GT3 cars. I'm very skeptical that this is better as I think Gt3 in Ac is superb frankly. I'm more hoping that RR can give us our historics racing buzz

That's pretty much where I was until I gave RR a fair chance. Shame you and others can't make it but taking advantage of these free weekends is always going to be difficult with RL commitments and planned GTR2/AC events. Maybe next time we go for an 8am race start to really test our commitment to the cause

The server is set and practice should start when the 1st person connects, if he then leaves I believe the timer will reset. I am in Blackpool famous for fresh air and fun, might be able to drop in, but am unlikely to be able to race.

Sorry cant run the game. After the latest update it starts in windowed mode and i can not click the options button to correct the settings. Probably will have to wait till this bug gets fixed i guess. Edit: fixed. There was no native screen resolution for my extra monitor that replaces the rather small laptop screen. Adjusted it by disconecting the monitor one time so i could get to the options menu

Umm, the server, and all the other systems at my house appear to be off line at the moment It's not just the race server nothing is on line, so either BT have screwed up , or there's a power outage or some evil hacker has messed it up. If there's a power outage everything it needs for this should auto start. I won't be back there untill next weekend, so there's nothing I can do to help, other than check it tommorow over the net.
