Season 28 Historics Trophy - Round 10 - Monaco

The last round sees a showdown for the title on the streets of Monte Carlo, on the Cote d'Azure. Iestyn and Tristan are the warriors battling for top honours.

Circuit de Monaco is a street circuit laid out on the city streets of Monte Carlo and La Condamine around the harbour of the principality of Monaco. It is commonly referred to as "Monte Carlo" because it is largely inside the Monte Carlo neighbourhood of Monaco.
A very challenging tight twisty circuit, few opportunities for passing but plenty of chances to hit the scenery.

This race is for cars with engines less than 3L in displacement.

Iestyn is restricted to Group I cars (Lotus Climax or Eagle-Climax).
Tristan is restricted to Group I or Group II cars (Lotus BRM or Brabham 2.5L Climax).

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

This season, races are to be run at 60 frames per second – please use this patch 60fpsV2newmod.

Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score.

Replays Available here

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page.

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Moderating The red zone will be fully moderated from the start to the exit of Portier (entrance to the tunnel).  Other moderation will be on reported incidents only, however any incidents that occur in the red zone that are not reported by the drivers will be reported by the moderator.  This will allow all affected drivers the opportunity to present their case before the incident is moderated.  This should ensure there are no surprises when the moderator's report is published and hence appeals will be less likely.  If you haven't received a PM about an incident before the link below the results table is removed, you can be sure that you will not appear in the moderator's report.

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10. Why the hell do I keep crashing then?!

With 9/10 races still subject to moderation, what exactly was the point of moderation, handicapping and championship standings for that matter, in this series this season  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Due to RL the moderations are delayed.

You are welcomed to join the team and moderate a series for next season, as good moderators are rare!

Alternatively we could scrap incident reports and moderation, like this season, and take the guesswork out of the handicapping and championship standings  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

...Alternatively we could scrap incident reports and moderation...

As there are races from Season 27 still awaiting attention, we could also just ignore everything (including handicaps and whatever "rules" don't jibe with your personal feelings), just race, accept that the standings are rendered meaningless, and give the lip-service "grats" to the winners.

So, heartfelt grats to the winners!  thumbup2

I would suggest a different handicap system be chosen for the future.  It is on the record, that a prompt methodical approach was needed, for this setup to work well.  Very disappointing for those who take championships seriously.  Congrats to all those, who believe they have achieved a top 6 finish. Cool

On the subject of the race last night. It provided some excellent close fought battles with drivers patiently waiting for the inevitable mistake ahead to provide an opportunity to pass on a track notoriously difficult to overtake on. Thanks and grats again to Clive and Doni on a great win and podium.

Congrats to Clive on the victory!  Well done, mate.

Fine drive by Ray to cop P2.  Grats!

A lucky P3 pour moi considering.  Engine woes for both Tristan and Iestyn plus a crushingly bad luck spin by Dean let me score a podium.  It was great fun dicing with Ray til I threw away a chance at P2 late in the going.  Still, a huge smile from me at the checker.

Grats on the overall series championship, Iestyn!  A very creditable job by Tris to finish P2 and something must be seriously wrong somewhere if I can place P3 in the final standings.  Smiley

CYA in S29 where I'm likely to scale back my participation to part time only.  Not gettin' any younger...

Was not my race.  Sad  Just throw away a better position at the chicane. Was that: "Sometimes you loose, sometimes the other wins."  Smiley Anyway congratulations to the Podium!
On to another season...
