Server replay time: 241s

The field approaches the Adelaide hairpin. Greg130 is at the inside of the track and locks up his brakes and runs into the back of Jon Chadwick.

Spudgun is at the outside of the track and is unaware of what is happening next to him. He sees Jon chadwick going by sideways and steers towards the apex of the corner. Greg130 still has his brakes locked up and hits Spudgun. Greg130 can't be held responsible for this contact, there for this part of the incident is a racing incident.

  • greg130 (Greg130)penalty — contact with several drivers on the first lap — 3 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 498s

Maurice Claessen is following Nakano_56 on the straight before Complex du Lycee. He keeps a reasonable distance until they get to the corner. Nakano_56 turns in a bit late and gets hit by Maurice Claessen making him spin off the track. He loses some places because he had to wait for a safe moment to join.

Normally this would be a 2 place penalty but Maurice Claessen took responsibilty for this incident so he drove around the track and did a self-imposed drive through penalty. Therefore the penalty will be reduced to a 0 place penalty.

  • mclaessen (Maurice Claessen)penalty — contact with Nakano_56 — 0 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 940s

Nakano_56 is behind Greg130 when they approach the Adelaide hairpin. Nakano_56 dives to the inside just before they get to the corner, runs a bit wide and hits Greg130.

  • Nakano_56 (nakano_56)penalty — contact with Greg130 — 2 places lost (plus 1 for penalty points)

Server replay time: 1755s

D Boyd laps [Zip]Tyf just after Chateau d'Eau. He then dives to the left side of the track, cutting [Zip]Tyf. There is some contact, but not much. The penalty will be reduced to 1 place lost.

Server replay time: 2139s

Mo is about to be lapped by D Boyd. When they get to Chateau d'Eau it seems like Mo is leaving room to let D Boyd pass. At the exit of the corner D Boyd taps the side of Mo.

Server replay time: 2818s

BMMRZ3Roadster runs offtrack with 2 wheels at the second corner. Upon trying to get back on track again he spins. At the same moment D Boyd comes through the corner and hits BMMRZ3Roadster.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 3372s

Nakano_56 follows BMMRZ3Roadster closely on the start/finish straight. It looks like BMMRZ3Roadster lifted a little to let Nakano_56 pass. Because Nakano_56 is so close he hits him.

Regarding my pit-stop, i certainly didnt hit any keys to activate 'AI control' so no idea why it switched over control and its disabled in my config file.

Reading my team forum posts it might be that one of my teamies didnt use the pit request or did it late (to be confirmed) so when he came in, the AI had allocated a pit box that i was already being fuelled in. Huh

But like i said, it was doing odd things like dumping me ontop of another car several times in the prac & qually sesh...are there enough garages at Magny? Wondering whether the full field of 24 was stretching capacity of garage allocation?
I still think it was just a poor netcode syncronisation when i joined as a reserve at the same time as several others. I've seen it twice before in online races.

To Dave Boyd....no worries on the bump, i actually wasnt in control of the car at that point, the AI had taken over. That was my outlap from pit-stop and i was waiting to see if it would give me back control at end of lap or re-pit. But after seeing it could potentially wreck others races, i retired. :'(

"Allow AI control" was enabled on the server when I checked it last night after the race. Just to confuse Picnic I turned it off and re-started the server Wink (I was thinking it should be turned off while we remembered, and that I should leave it running just in case it was needed).

Here's what I'm wondering regarding Mark & Don's pitting problems.

There were 3 NGT Legends drivers in the race, all our cars in the carpack are based on the same car and so are allocated to the same pit garage;

Code:
PitGroup="GTec_MotorCompeticion"

There are enough pit boxes as Magny so we should get one each but I'm wondering with three drivers whether GTR allocates two garages to the team (in this case based on the GTec_MotorCompeticion group) and shoehorns three drivers into them, thus the problems that Mark and Don saw.

OTOH, I was well out of the pits by that point so if my theory above was correct, then there still should have been 2 slots available  Undecided Maybe I got allocated one, then Don (we were in first as FT drivers) so when Mark came in as reserve GTR got confused and randomly put him in with Don?

Interesting also that Pro-Eco and ZiP (at least) had three drivers last night and presumably they didn't have the same problems. That could have been down to the timing of the pit-stop's but it would be interesting if they stopped at the same time and whether their cars are all allocated to the same PitGroup in the .car files (sorry, I can't check at the moment)

We've discussed possibly staggering our pit-stop's in future races to avoid this happening again but it would be interesting to know if this IS a carpack issue or whether is was a random GTR netcode blip.

Pops.

Yes would be interesting to know.

I sort of also like the idea that team's only get ONE garage though, i mean how many engineers do you have changing wheels and fueling at anyone time anyway? Some of the big teams like ZiP probably have a huge entourage, but smaller teams can't possibly afford that many engineers.  Wink Wink Tongue Tongue Shocked Cheesy Grin

Bit of extra info., Mark's saying that when he got dumped into the same garage as another driver it was a Ferrari so maybe it's nothing to do with the PitGroup.

Also, dunno if this helps but when we've done some private team practice sessions, we've never seen the garage issue even with all four of us on track.

Server's up running Estoril for praccy for tomorrow's NGT sprint race, you could pop in later as a group and all pit together to see if the same problem exists in Portugal

Maybe we won't see a problem unless all the other garages have been allocated though  Undecided

<sigh> This is going to be a tricky one to pinpoint exactly what the problem is. It might be almost impossible to replicate.

Well what can I say, decided to take the big bad Bi-Turbo out, cobbled together a driveable setup from one that Tyf sent me and seemed good. That was until the end of the S/F straight on the 2nd lap. Misjudged my downshifting  and ran wide into the wall, instant puncture in the front right and aero damage and a WHOLE BLOODY LAP to get round to get it repaired. After limping it round I was already getting lapped before I got to the pits and was desperately trying to decide what to do with my pit strategy. I decided the only sensible thing I could do was fill it right up and go for a non-stopper. Things were going well, car felt good, albeit a little heavy lol, tyres felt good after a few laps and I was closing down on the back markers. That was until BOOM, black smoke and flames everywhere, guess I pushed that turbo just too far. Oh well learnt from it, STAY ON THE BLOODY TRACK Grin

I think this is correct - each pit box has two garages.
But the game normally has no problems allocating garages even if the entire grid choose the same car eg F550 #21.
It seems to have some way of extending that team's alocated pitboxes/garages.

I had a strange one last night too when it came to pitstop time.
I knew that it was odd that my pit crew hadn't called me for fuel by half distance, and when I looked at the meter I saw I only had 4 litres left (lap 22).
So I made a pit request but they responded with something I couldn't quite make out (it definitely wasn't the normal come on in kinda thing). So I requested a pit again and got the same muffled reply, and then I decided to go around for one more  lap(lap 23)  and hope that I'd be called in then.
Didn't happen though so I requested again and it worked this time  Huh

Anyway it appears they weren't letting me pit during laps 20 to 23 for some reasson and this was nothing to do with teamie SBG who had made his stop on lap 19.
In the end I had 1 litre left when I hit the limiter so it was close.

The game doesn't seem to have a 'Box' light to let us know if the pit is busy (unless this is on the HUD which I've never used).
Anyone else get a weird response from pit crew when requesting their pit?
