S28 -Tasman Trophy - Round 2 - 67 Formula 2 - AMAROO PARK 96

Changed back to the 96 version as the 67 seems to make even more troubles!

Just for fun and to give the F2's a chance to stretch their legs again we are running a short series based upon the Tasman series that used to run down in the Antipodies. There will be 5 races, all on Aussie or New Zealand circuits, some of which might be new to you but almost all of them are easy to learn. There will be 4 short sprint races of 30 minutes and a 45 minute race to finish up with.
First race is Tuesday 1st September and the plan is to run these races on    Tuesdays and Fridays    for the next couple of weeks.

PLEASE NOTE THE CAR LIMITS FOR THE LIGHT DRIVERS AND EVEN THE HEAVIES HAVE TO PLAN, AS THEY CAN ONLY USE CARS ONCE....  If this proves exceptionally popular and the next season's preparations are not quite ready we might add more races........

The tracks are:-
SURFERS PARADISE
Amaroo 67
Lakeside
Sandown
Either Bathurst ( Mt Panorama) or Adelaide

GLA and have FUN

Just got in guys and this is not looking good........sorry about that. Strange because we have had some good races on this track in the past.

I hope we don't get any discos ( but I am not confident!) At least this is a fun race, so no championship points at stake.......just looking on the bright side  Roll Eyes

Race two was unlucky for me. My screen froze near turn three of the first lap. I was a little slow through the first corner, and I could tell that I bunched up the grid a little. It looked like too many cars tried to squeeze past me on the entry of turn three. I probably would have had more success from farther back on the grid. I had fun anyhow, and I am left wondering how I improved my pace by three seconds over my last practice. I really enjoyed the track. Too bad that it suffers these problems.

Well, there were a few discos/b;ack screens (but not as many as I feared) and some very intense racing at the front.

thanks to Axel for doing the server stuff.  Wink

Congrats Ray, Clive, Axel!

I thought the Ferrari might be relatively good here. Bob proved that with his awesome lap times. I had driven the F2 basic trainers at the 67 version of the track. They were easy to spin so I thought the Dino would have enough power to make it interesting.

Now wouldn't it be a real drag if we were all the same
