I can't get into the lobby today at all.
Anyone tried getting in with 1.5? I've not got it installed at all, so can't try it.

Hmmm, Not got 1.5 to try. This doesn't bode well for the race tonight though does it, unless we go over to direct I.P. not sure if that still needs to go through the server though?

Direct IP isn't going to help as it still needs the lobby (how F***ing stupid is that?!).

Fingers crossed that it is sorted out by tonight then. Last night was strange, just got disco'd from the lobby twice, no warning just came up with a lost connection message. The ukgtr server got very laggy for a bit as well with a lot of warping, wondered if it was my connection til Rich said he was suffering too. Strange thing was that Rich then hosted and we had no problems at all

Is there a way to force entry to the back up lobby?

There used to be a way but better to try for main imo.. Not sure if this is still valid but i've done it.. http://www.gtr-game.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2158This is what my host.ics looks like # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost 83.138.128.205 www.simbin.netMaybe worth a shot for the server and clients. Also in .plr there is a timeout option before going to backup, try making it longer. i.e Lobby Login Timeout="50" // Time allowed (in seconds) before Login to the internet lobby will timeout

We shall see what happens tonight I guess. I just got into the backup lobby, but it's going to be a nightmare if some are in the backup and some are in the main and the server will be in one or the other. I thought all these problems went away with 1.3 but I wonder if they are testing GTR2 or something. Anyway, offline practice, I just did a 1:36.7 in the Ferrari 360. A new PB for me. Really flying, quite literally on a couple of occasions thanks to Mr and Mrs tyre chicane.

Might I suggest making sure server is in main as it's impossible to get in backup intentionally. Maybe you could start server now with the right settings for tonight then leave it running as is. When it's 8.00pm only got to vote next event.. not sure if it can be done this way but probably easier now to get in main rather than later.

I expect I'll announce a new full time NGT runner shortly.
As expected Mark Jonzo is taking over the extra full time spot in NGT.
