Ooh that's my fave looking paint job on a Beemer or porka  Cool beat me to it  Wink
I'm intending to take the Bastos car. Though sounds like we get random skins assigned to us anyway.

For the umpteenth time when we race you pick what skin you like from those you have installed. It's only during pre-event practice where I have to preallocate the cars on the server and then I just randomly pick some from the selection for the race. The reason there is a booking period is so Assetto knows the full list of cars when practice starts. Pickup races car list is in the entry_list.ini file, for non-pickup races we let Assetto get the car list from the drivers selection.

Skins work like this  Grin
Server in pick-up mode: you get the skin, set in the entry.list, in order of joining.
Server in booking mode: you get the skin you selected in your game, no matter in what order you join.
Server in guid mode: you get the skin as set in the entry.list, no matter in what order you join.

All provided you have the skin in your game.
Edit: Picnic beat me to it  Cool

You can't just take an orange car, because you're Dutch  Cheesy that's my colour  taz
That said, I'll go for the Sega one  Tongue

Ah cool thanks for explaining it so clearly Erik  Smiley could tell Petes patience was wearing thin  laugh Cut me some slack I've never done this before! Got no idea of the server side of things   Embarrassed
So that's great as long as we pre pick our skins on our own pc all should be good.

Got adverts on Kunos, No-grip and Core racings sites now. Lets see if it brings more drivers.  Smiley

Jumping on the server in a minute for some practise if anyone wants to join in.

Seems the rear wing setting has a high impact on your top speed in these cars.

Good to see some old faces on the server this eve for practise. Thank you to Jeff for sharing some setup info.  Smiley
I spent ages trying different gear and Spring combos without gaining any time lol. Couldn't get near my offline pb, 2 secs off in the 45's online with race fuel but think I've at least got something I can race with. Noticed my tyres were staying perhaps too cool.

Downshifts unsettle this car so a good tip is to run as higher gear as you can to turn into the medium to high speed corners without losing momentum or under steering off. ie use 4th instead of 3rd. Also if you can blip the throttle when down shifting, that helps too.

Did MJ give you setup tips? If they were the tips I gave him, I can put a setup online somewhere for people to download after the race. It was a test setup which surprisingly worked out, but I have no idea what it is going to do in a race, so I'm gonna wait till after the race, before people blame me for falling off the track  Grin

Yes Jeff see two posts above where I thanked you for the setup advice!  Wink

Lol yeah, I saw that, but I don't know what you did after I left, so maybe you found something and shared that. In which case...gimme gimme gimme  Grin.

Gears are tricky, car doesn't have a lot of torque, so a higher gear kills the engine. Especially the chicane is difficult, 3rd is too short, 4th makes the car turn in very badly and very bad acceleration. Maybe I need to tweak around a bit with the ratios to get that right. I see the red engine damage thingy flashing a bit too often  Tongue
