Remember you are supposed to drive with your lights off unless the weather demands it or if you are leading.

  • picnic (Picnic)caution — driving with your lights on for no reason

Server replay time: 1974s

BMMRZ3Roadster is behind Truetom when they come out of the corner. Truetom locks his brakes, gets wide and is hit by BMMRZ3Roadster.

  • Beckham (BMMRZ3Roadster)penalty — contact with Truetom — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 2000s

Whitham69 is behind BMMRZ3Roadster when they get to the braking zone before the esses. Whitham69 brakes far too late and contact can't be avoided anymore. He bumps into the back of BMMRZ3Roadster who is sent into a spin.

Whitham69 took responsibilty for the incident and did a drivethrough the pits in the same lap. Therefore I am reducing the penalty to 0 places lost.

I cant belive I made the whole race with out the pc crashing was missing a dll in my agv firewall.

The race went real bad for me clipped the grass on the back straight lost into a wall and ripped off the splitter. after the pit stop I came out in last place with a 1.28 sec gap to 20th Shocked. Made my way up to 16th and had to pit for fuel putting back to last. i overtake a NGT and get a blue flag to let them back by that was very confusing had to keep checking the front runners were not behind me. good race by all from what I seen.

I actually really enjoyed that. I've been finding motivation a bit of a problem recently but I felt like a race tonight and this was the only option Wink Joined qual with about 15 mins to go so did the session with the race setup so as to get in the grove a bit. The last NGT sprint race I did, Monza for those with short memories  Tongue, I never had anyone to race after about 5 laps. Here I was dicing with peopl for almost the first hour, mainly Maverick but with several others too. Finally managed to stay infront with about 20 to go and once Maverick had had an off it was settle down and not mess up. Had 2 full spins and one half spin.

Really nice to see another Team Shark car. It's strange how these endurance races go. They're so long, yet there can be lots of racing somehow. I like the whole strategy thing of pitting and being lapped and so on. There seems to be a nice 2 bunches of speed per class which means most people get some sort of race with somebody else. Certainly even though I won by about 18 secs in the end I was in a race the whole way through.

If anyone wondered why I was pitting after 20 misn it was cos I ended up in the pits having half spun in the last hairpin Grin

Now that's skill!  Grin Tongue

Rejoined behind SBG and pushed him hard, but there was no way by. Be interested to hear what wing setting SBG was using cause the 996 just power easily away down the straights, even in the slipstream the F360 couldn't hang on. It meant I had no chance under braking however as I'd lose ground under braking.

I was using maximum wing (10). I'm not going to give any of Mo's secrets away    Wink, but his excellent setup allowed me to get on gas quite quickly and prolly that made it very difficult for you. Great fun while it lasted though.

Just one thing, is there anything in rules about genuine overtaking under blue flags? You didn't take advantage when I slowed (virtually pulling over to make it safe) for lapping cars but I have taken advantage of them in the past   Embarrassed.

Hope Spa sees all four of us pretty evenly matched again, with pops added to the mix, and signals a turn of luck for me.

Nice race, thought I was doing ok still managed to be lapped by the faster NGT's Shocked
Had a little bit of racing with Maverick and Picnic for a while, the rest of the race I was kept busy with the lapping GT monsters!
I had some huge slow downs in fps during the race (almost 1fps at times) wonder why after a year of racing GTR that is starting to happen more often? (It used to run real smooth on a 9600 pro and upgraded a bit for GTL to a 6800 and now more probs, any ideas anyone?) It's almost impossible to drive when it hits and losing a few places is getting off lightly.
I hope I can continue to run in these races :'(

Nothing in the rules. Using lapped or lapping traffic to get past someone you're racing for position is part of multiclass and endurance racing. Of course if somebody is enjoying a good dice there's nothing to stop them being sporting about it and not taking advantage of the situation and breaking up a good battle. Cool

Interesting. I've always suspected the 996 was faster on the straights, had more torque than any of the other NGT cars and this proves it. I was running 9 wing, so only one less, but should have given me a bit more straight line speed. I was able to use full throttle out of many of the corners, yet even in your slip stream I could not keep with the extra grunt of the 996 down the straights. I thought in the NGT sprint season the Morgan was down on power/speed on the rest of the cars, but it seems that it's the 996 that is the fast one.

Might have to try it soon, if I can work out how to set it up. Any tips? Setups you can send me?

No nothing in the rules. Yes I know, I was being kind and fair, but also with your extra apparent grunt it was difficult to try that safely. I don't take many risks in endurance racing as it's more important to not have incidents than anything else. This has shown to be true this season, I've only made one cock up in the 4 races I've done so far and that is one of the main reasons I've won 3 out of the 4.

The pace yesterday was pretty even between the top 6 in NGT, although I think I had the edge after the pitstops, we were all so close for the first half of the race, was fantastic.

Hope Spa sees all four of us pretty evenly matched again, with pops added to the mix, and signals a turn of luck for me.

Yes, although I don't find Spa great for actual racing. Fabulous circuit, but I tend to find the field spreads out quite a lot at Spa and can be quite boring.

On the topic of the straight line speed of the 360 and 996. I find all the 360's power is very hi up in the rev range so you have to keep  it in that power band to get the best out of it, the 996 as you said Shark has good torque and pulls hard from midrange which i think is why the 996 seems to be better at straightline speed but i think its just easier to drive harder out of corners therefor giving a better speed at the end of straights. For example i go can go into Coppice in 3rd and  as soon as im past the apex i change up into 4th even though i havnt really got on the cam in 3rd and the car just haules out of the corner, which is alot easier than trying to fight the car all the way out of the corner in 3rd which is what i have to do in the 360.
Maybe you guys who drive the 360's do the same thing but i defantly find the 996 better out of corners, even though i still get roasted by people driving 360's.  Smiley

Shark I borrowed my 996 setup from online files ( GT3-Doni-Quali-s3). Seemed to work fine but not much kop driving in TV camera mode  Roll Eyes. Give it time and you'll be a 996 convert like me, not sure anyone wants to see you get quicker though  Wink.

LOL. I sort of want to try the Mosler properly next. Reluctant to take the 996 cause there are too many of them on the grid and I like a bit of variety. We shall see. Have done skins for both so either way.  Smiley

You really ought not to have done that. See the incident at 3270s for the Barcelona race.

This shared pit situation really is becoming a PITA. I wonder if it really is just the tendency to pit close to have distance which has made this all too common or whether the car pack has somehow made it worse - not that I can see how.

Pretty good race all in all , car was running fine and in the 1st stint there was a good fight going on from 2nd to 5th place. Thanks for the nGT's and lapped cars , i think it went very smoothly most of the time Smiley

Only had one brainfart in the race , dropped left side tires out of the track BEFORE turn 1 and went wide after that  Embarrassed  , that cost me about 5 secs and lost the sight for Darin who was in 2nd place  . That took out some edge of the chase , but tried to push anyway to keep somekind of pressure on.  CJ ofcourse vanished early on into the horizont and went for a another smooth win  Cool , but solid 3rd place was ok ... atleast i didnt get lapped this time by my own team mate  Grin and fight for the 2nd place did stay alive allmost whole race Cool.

Thx for the fun again and cya in track ...  Wink

Really enjoyed it too, despite another last place finish, almost achieved my target of finishing the same number of laps as the car in front of me Cheesy
Its an improvement from my last race, so i'm pleased, just need to set up the car better, the front end must go faster than the back Cheesy
I'm afraid its going to be someone elses turn to come last next race, as its the one-week-in-three that i have to work on sunday night.
Have fun
Phil.
