Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Drivers are advised to install the advanced setup mod. This will enable wing angle to be modified. Get the mod here http://www.mediafire.com/download/3hufvlu3k93egh3/Advanced_Setup.zip

Install three files (Game.dic, GTLOptions1.gtl and gtlui.mnu) into your folder called UIdata.

Not sure whether I can make this one. Won (!) a weekend ticket for the Oldtimer GrandPrix at the Nuerburgring next weekend Grin
and possibly will return from a prolonged weekend not before Monday evening.

Will be a challenge as I'm bothered by massive back and sciatic pain for about 8 weeks now  Sad but I hope having finally started with the right therapy.

Grats on winning the tickets Kurt  Smiley  I visited the Oldtimer GrandPrix many many years ago, and it was an absolute blast for a car nut like me  Smiley

Sorry to hear about your back; hope you'll get better soon.

Hmmm, whoever put a blind entry, high-curb chicane at the crest of a hill, after a terminal velocity straight, must have been a sadist, or at least had a very twisted sense of humor...  Wink

Oh its that version of the track. I don't think I have ever finished a race on this one, always end up getting launched off the kerbs into the barriers!  Shocked

Ah of course - the lap records at the top is from the version without this chicane.  Was looking at them with a sinking feeling, compared to what I've been able to do in my practice so far  Cheesy

This does not sound very promising.
Posts about car killing kerbs, and tails of difficult tracks in cars that I have never felt comfortable with, do not inspire me with confidence.

I was away for a friends birthday party over the weekend, which is when I would normally d/load and at least do a few laps to learn the track...this has not happened yet. No download or laps.

On the way to the birthday on Friday, I must have had a "dodgy" sandwich which did nothing good for my digestive system. Still suffering, so I consider myself a doubtful for tonight's race, or at best a back row starter.

Hope your stomach is feeling better tonight Clive.  On the track, you just have to get your braking at the end of the start/finish straight done in time; then you can tiptoe through the chicane - it's when cresting the hill while still braking, realising you have to turn in NOW, that tends to make things messy..  Wink

Having tried a few laps last night, I can confirm what Erling has said. If you attack the chicane it will bite you, don't try risking it on the brakes & take it easy & you will be fine. Rest of the track is pretty straightforward although a little bumpy in places which can unsettle the car a little. Being smooth is the key here, attacking the course usually means a slower laptime.
