Managed some 1:07s yesterday, after some more setup tweaks, but mind you, we haven't heard from the aliens yet. I'm sure they'll do 1:05s or even lower.. (I suck at the US heavy metal, so my times are surely mediocre at best) Cheers, Erling Hi Erling, dont worry 1.07 on these track it s good. Pole 1.06, but i not will a problem for anyone with Camaro Z28, it s slow and i dont like drive it. Lap times more closed because these track is short. I think many battles today, i m thinking to Geoffers. I think there are many battles on these track, i m thinking to Geoffers. But i dont like these track

Had the same problem last week. Simply delete or remove the LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt -file, maybe save it at another place.

I joined at about 8:29 and the race started almost immediately, 10 mins early. Was there an on-track vote, i wonder?

There was a bad calculation by the server admin.. me that is. I asked if people wanted to restart, and no one did. Sorry if it caught you out.

Was caught out a bit by the start time, I was on the server in plenty of time but the best laid plans went belly up when I forgot to refill to race fuel after Q. I pulled into the pits thinking I had a good few minutes until the race and went to grab a coffee, came back in and the countdown had already started. Qualified 11th which was better than I expected given I am clueless regarding the set up of these beasts. A change in gearing and lower the rear to try to tame the lively back end under braking at the end of the main straight but that was it. Start went well and I found myself up as high as 6th at 1 point but was surrounded by cars which obviously knew far better lines than me and I was a bit of a mobile chicane a lot of the time. Then it went all downhill very rapidly, 1st I lost the rear at the top of the hill and went across the grass, then the track the other side of the hairpin coming to rest the other side of the armco, "Cut Track Stop & Go" (You don't say)... Took the S&G and rejoined way down the field, Tried to keep out of the fast guys way (Sorry if I held anyone up), Then I was reminded that I still had Q fuel levels and had to pit for a 2nd for a splash and dash which put me even further adrift. Somehow due to others apparently having an even worse day that myself I ended the race back in 11th which was something of a victory considering I was going to park it up and walk back to the pits at one point. Congrats to all finishers and especially the Podium, I Just cannot visualise where you are all finding 3 seconds a lap from.. Hats off to you all, I would have needed an M6A to beat you today. TTFN John.

Liked yesterday's track, but one of those races that leaves a somewhat bitter taste in the mouth.
Qualify was difficult; hard to get a clear lap with all the traffic on a short circuit. Worked out eventually, with a new pb, so happy about that.
Start was so-so and I lost a place. T1 was brilliant however. With a cheeky move around the inside of the turn, I was suddenly in 2nd !! Joy of that lasted exactly one lap. Same place next lap, I had a fairly big gap to 3rd place car. Thus entered the turn feeling completely safe. An illusion unfortunately; out of the blue, with a haphazard manoeuvre, 3rd place car still managed to torpedo my car mid-corner. Spun me round and dropped me 6 places, to 8th.
Worked my way up to 5th, but lost the places again one by one, dropping back to 8th. Made them up again to finish 5th. Much of it was a hard fought duel with Ziu. Sometimes in front, but mostly behind. Was surprised to reel him in and keep pace with him late in the race, but my tyres were too shot for me to successfully get past (I tried..). When the car started pulling right under the hard braking for T1, it became very difficult. Surprising, since the right front tyre was the most worn, so I would expect it to pull left instead. Maybe the temperatures compensated, as it was also the warmest (least cool).
Grats to the podium and Ziu in 4th.
Cheers, Erling

Big apologies to those who found themselves encouraged to spin by my front bumper I could not understand why everyone was braking so much earlier than me in the early laps. Were they trying to preserve their tyres for later in the race?............The answer was quite obvious about 8 laps later when the engine coughed and ran out of fuel!!! I had loaded a trial setup with only 10 laps of gas in the tank, instead of the 40 lap option that I had intended to use Sorry for messing up your races guys, even though I waited for my victims to pass me it did not really matter as I was never going to make it to the end.

Erling, the narrow vertical bars, by the tyre temperature blocks are for showing brake wear. With weight transfer to the outer front outside corner of the car at the hairpin not only the front right tyre get most wear but also the right front brake. My front right had almost gone into the red by the end of the race and had been snatching for the last 10 or so laps. The effect is to lock up the right front brake causing the car to pull right and can cause a spin even. The only way, I've found, is to brake lighter and earlier.

Thanks Bill, but are you certain the bars indicate brake wear ? I've always taken the outer bars to represent tyre wear, and the inner ones to be brake temperature. Looked at Vitumo.de and found this: MoTeC Data Tyretemperatures (In/Mid/Out) Tyrewear Tyrepressure Enginetemperatures (Water/Oil) Braketemperatures Engine Health They don't mention brake wear, but that may be an omission of course. Cheers, Erling
