Do hope Geoffers reconsiders.

Come time for the next 50s race I probably will. I enjoy driving these cars but I don't think they produce very good racing, particularly on these fast unforgiving tracks. I was just really annoyed with myself last night for ruining Rog's race right at the beginning that I lost interest in carrying on after he left.

Tony, I think that you deserve this podium, if you finish race it s mean that you drove well.  If someone did mistake as me it s mean that we maybe don't understood well race with these cars. For example about me, I was racing on Erling, I wanted take many advantage on him before the pitstop, at least 30 seconds so I started push hard immediately...... This has been my mistake, I saw the race on limited way, you no, you have drove clean without any mistake, you deserve podium. I don't see replay  but if you are third that mean you drove best than me. Speed not it s all specially with these cars. I was driving Fifties car as a Procar, this is my mistake so I out after 3 laps and you are third, it s right so !......and a good lesson for me also.

Had a promisingly looking race that ended in disappointment.

Made a slow start on my slippery vintage tyres. 1st lap seemed to contain the usual mayhem, despite 'take it easy' recommendations before the start.  I regained a couple of the lost places, thanks to the misfortune of others.  Then encountered a strange braking problem over the early laps. It wasn't the missing black stuff on track that Clive mentioned, as I relied on trees & telephone poles for brake markers, but the car simply wouldn't stop in the distance I had worked out in practice - I kept overshooting the corners.  Later it became normal again (all in my head maybe ?)

Caught both Clive & Franky overshooting the final corner and had a golden opportunity to overtake both, but the above mentioned brake problem caught me, so I head butted the barrier instead.  Franky recovered quickly and was gone.  I had Bob & Clive behind when I got going again. Clive got past Bob after 1 or 2 laps.  Managed to keep him behind, until I stuffed it in the barrier in the same place again.  This time Clive joined me, but I was stuck on the barrier and took a long time to pry myself loose, now several places down.

Decided to invoke my early pitstop strategy. Rejoined in 5th, all by myself, but then I could at least concentrate on just driving.  Regained places as others pitted, finding myself in 2nd, 1½ minute behind Franky.  He would have to make a very long pitstop, if I should catch him. He did, and I went into 1st, just as he was on his way out.   That gap would never hold against a monster Mazza.  Lasted longer than expected though, as I believe he went off a couple of times while chasing me.  He was biting 5 secs out of my lead on his good laps however, and eventually passed me down the main straight.  He then spun under braking for the final turn and I couldn't avoid his car.  We got going again, unfortunately with me in front, as Franky now pressed an overtake through the fast right-hand kink after start/finish.  Had to stay on the outside lane and thus couldn't make the turn.  Drifted onto grass and grazed the fence, which caught and destroyed the car  Sad   Race over and an almost certain 2nd converted to 6th.

Disappointed over this, as with such a massive speed advantage and 3 laps to go, Franky could easily have passed in a safer place.

Commiserations to my fellow DNF'ers and a partially lukewarm grats to the podium  Undecided

Cheers,
Erling

Hello.
Sorry for my English (translator google).
Erling GP,  get angry with me for your mistake,
I apologized and I  wait, seeing the repetition thing ought not to do,  was a very very clean overtaking and before the curve.
I'd rather ser last and no one gets angry.
I am saddened by his words. :'(
Just looking for fun, I am not good pilot simply had the best car, but I'm not a cheater.
I would have liked to run with the F1 Monday, but better not disturb,
Until always.
Greetings to all

Don't take it that hard Franky.  I still think you could have found a better place to pass, but there was no contact between our cars, so maybe you're right that it was 'my mistake'.  If I hadn't made it though, we would probably have collided - I needed to drive where your car was to make the curve.

I do wish you'll join us for F1 on Monday, if you feel like it - don't stay away because of a single, silly incident!

Cheers,
Erling

Gentlemen, if I may take a moment to remind you of our rules at SROUK

Under no circumstances should drivers engage in discussion of incidents in a public forum (including in-game chat). In particular, no attempt should be made to apportion blame.
A brief mention of an incident may be made in a public race report.

We have an incident moderation procedure in place and everyone is encouraged to use it, if they feel it necessary.

I don't want to lose any driver(s) from our league due to bad feelings, harsh words or simple miss-understanding.

We all come here to enjoy the s(t)imulation of historic cars racing and each others company. Let's not lose sight of the fact that it is fun, we all make mistakes, and every other driver is a numpty.

My bad Tony; didn't have the rules present in mind, so apologies for breaking them.

Congrats to the Podium trio and all the Finishers, and bad luck for the rest, it was kind of a tough race, I picked the slowest car of the pack I guess, the SLR, since it was an endurance race I thought to race with minimum damage to reach the chequered flag, in practice I tried the Maserati but it was too hard for me to handle it, I dunno how you do it guys but I span a lot with it's monstrous engine !!

I reached the Finish lane 4th mainly due to the misfortune of the good drivers ahead of me but mainly my race was lonely, I race with Bill in the opening laps then caught Tony after his Pitstop when he went straight on T1 and I said Yessssss its my chance to pass him but a few laps later I pitted for Fuel and he passed me with his Huge Mazzza and couldn't catch him again !!!

Hope to see you on the track next monday !!!

Cheers
