Well, I had an absolute disaster. Qualifying went normally and I got a great start with some early tussles with Clive and then Erling then my PC threw a wobbly. Frame rates went down the toilet. 29fps according to the Fraps fps display and every time any messages popped up (Thanks, Sorry, xxx has left the server) my screen froze for about half a second. So my race mainly consisted of missed braking points and over controlling. The missed braking points resulted in a few hard trips into the hay bales which did little to help the handling and I was easy prey for those following behind.
Soldiered on in the vain hope it would all come good but it didn't. Considered parking the car several times but while I was still on the lead lap I decided to continue for as long as I could.
At end of race GTL crashed to the desktop when I tried to leave the event.
Hoping this was just a 1 off. I had entered the server from a clean boot but obviously something decided to start eating my CPU although nothing showed up in task manager once I was back at the desktop.

Regarding the Fantasy or real question. Everyone is correct.
The track we raced on has never existed. It was the proposed layout to be built in 1985 but political wranglings meant they built the Hungoring instead. The layout of the track used previously through into the early 1960's is unfortunately unknown as no track maps have been found and eastern block countries were never very big on recording heritage. If anyone does know the layout of the earlier track please let me know. The GPL Mod team over at SRMZ would be forever in your debt for the upcoming 1955 Mod.
