I beat Mark Donohue time with Camaro Z28, but the problem is that with Mercury is possible go under 1:15.
hmmmm, I think I have a spare Mercury waiting in my pit stall . Might have to negotiate some practice time with "the boss", but that might be difficult as she has plans for me to do some decorating this weekend

I'm not sure that Ziu will be too pleased by this result! To discover that he was dropped by the server, when he was running in about 5th place and he only needed 3 points to take the series? I think he might feel a little miffed to discover that Geoffers had a DNF!!! Although, I stole pole position with a fluke lap I was hoping that I might just have the pace to live with Geoffers in the race. Sadly he proved that I didn't!!! I was definitely trying just that bit too hard and dropping precious tenths on each lap as Geoffer's car got ever more distant Finally I made a mistake on the final corner and the gap jumped to over 4 secs, and I resigned myself to 2nd place at best . The gap back to Matt in 3rd was a comfortable 8 secs so I decided to try and keep at least some rubber on my rims and eased off just a fraction. It was only a few laps later that I passed a discarded bumper on the Esses................... ? once onto the straight I checked the race order and......... Geoffers had pranged it??!!! So now I had the lead and an 8 sec gap From there to the flag it was just a case of being careful and the only drama was coming across Tony and Rog having a contratemps on the S/F straight, which I was able to run around without getting involved. All I can say is...Hard Luck Geoffers, that race should have been yours....even harder luck Ziu, because you might have snatched the series win just by finishing. Thanks for a real fun series in these big beasts, the more races I did, the more I liked them.

Wait till you see the results For me it s more bitter to see this results, I lost championship because a stupid server. However Geoffers deserved it, he won more races than me. Clive you see, what I said in past about these cars is confirmed, you used 2 times Cougar and you won 2 times that mean your style driving is adapted for Mercury. Mercury is good car but not for all drivers, for you yes. Today someone used Barracuda but not got your resulted. Erling used Camaro and beat me on qualy. If Ziu could use Barracuda pole was under 1:14 (joking ) but maybe possible. My issue with Camaro was that I needed gear3 more short just so I could be competitive my car was balanced, not perfectly but the gear is too important for personal style driving specially with these cars. The package change when we change track, but you and Mercury is good wedding. If in future it will possible to have a championship without restrictions with these cars I sure we will have a great battle.

I have to agree that I did enjoy driving the Mercury at Watkins Glen. I did try a couple of laps with the Camaro and the Firebird just before the race offline, but I had no previous setups for those cars, and very little time to build one. The Mercury ( with the same setup that I used before ) was about 1.5 secs faster than the default setup on the two other cars, so I took the easy option . I agree with you Ziu, about the gear ratios. But I have found the gears a problem in ALL of the cars on all of the tracks. I need a 5 speed gearbox!! There always seemed to be at least one corner on a circuit where I felt that I wanted a different gear ratio. I guess that just like everyone else, I was either against the rev limiter, or it felt like I was chugging in too high a gear. Maybe with a 5 speed gearbox I would be 2 secs a lap faster, but then so would everyone else!! lol Thanks for a fun series. Maybe we will wrestle with these cars again soon?

Contrary to Ziu, I quite liked the Camaro here, and for me it was faster than the Barracuda when I tested before the previous race, although that is probably just testament to my complete lack of ability with the latter car.. Loved the track too - nice flow, fast curves and elevation changes are my preferences. Surprised to qualify ahead of Ziu, if only just - maybe he hated the car too much to even try ? Had high hopes for a good start, with my aggressive diff setting, but got slowly off the line, so Ziu muscled through, taking John with him. That was the start of some quite busy laps - while trying to find a way past John, I simultaneously had to fend off advances from Bob. Finally got past, when John ran a little wide entering the righthander after the long straight. Next lap he slid off in the same spot, which was the last I saw of him. Bob however, remained a constant, bright yellow presence in my mirrors throughout the race, 2.5 - 3.5 secs behind, so only room for very minor errors. Tyres started to go around midrace, but Bob seemed unaffected, which was worrying. Tried every conceivable way to keep momentum up - as smooth as possible, with as tight lines as I could. To my relief, it seemed Bob was finally struggling with grip too, as the gap went up a little late in the race. Car in front was 7-8 secs ahead, and I couldn't close the gap despite my best efforts. Surprise 3rd place, with the retirements up front, but of course happy to finish the series on the podium. Grats to Clive for the victory & Matt for 2nd, and of course to Geoffers for the Championship Commiserations to Ziu for losing the connection and possibly the Championship, but grats on 2nd place nonetheless Forgot to add: Thanks to Bob & Tony for putting this excellent series together !! Cheers, Erling

Well that was a bit of an anti-climax to a fine series from my point of view, really sorry Ziu got a disco early on, took the edge off the race. The worldwide TV audience must have been gutted! Fine performance from Clive though, excellent pace, especially that qually lap. I was really having to try hard just to maintain the small gap that I had & it was only when Clive made a couple of small errors that I felt comfortable. Unfortunately I relaxed too much & let the car drift a little too wide through the uphill esses & clouted those straw bales which killed the car. Congrats to Clive, Matt & Erling. Happy to have won the series, although not how I would have liked. Big thanks to Bob & Tony for organising.

I took the Cuda because for me it was slightly faster than the Mustang and the Z28, which were the only cars I had to use. Made a decent start, gave Ziu "just" enough room up the hill, and settled into 3rd following Clive and Geoff for a few laps was not quite as fast, and they gradually pulled away. kept the gap back to Erling at around 7 secs after he passed John. Nearly stuffed it in the loop avoiding a recovering wayward west country gent Roger was very good to lift and allow an easy pass, which he also did for Erling. Dang, and after what I payed him, harumph. Roll on the BOSS series. I really enjoy these heavy metal cars.
