Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Possibly another miss for me too due to All Saints' Day on 1st November and a prolonged weekend in the Eifel mountains without computer and internet connection  Grin

Well this is the final race of this series.  Hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have.  I provoked Tony into the idea because I like these cars and it is the 50th year of the Trans Am series and the type of cars that were raced.  Thanks Tony!!!
Watkins Glenn is a legendary track here in the USA, so it is fitting we run the final race at this venue.  The races in this area were first run in 1948 on public roads  until 1956 when the current space was bought for a permanent track and its configuration was used until 1970.  Almost every type of vehicle has been raced on the track from Grand Prix to trucks.  It was then modernized to the current track configurations in use today.  The earliest Trans Am race was 1968 and was won by Jerry Titus in a Mustang.  The fast time was Mark Donohue in a Camaro with a time of 1:15.8 in Qualification.  I'm sure our speedy guys will better that by a few seconds as this old guy is running close to that with full race fuel.   See you at the track.....

I was surprised how much I enjoyed these monsters Bob.

Too much power and no grip seems to suit my driving style, so provided I can cobble together a setup that at least allows me to point the damned thing in approximately the right direction, I will be at WG.  Grin Grin
It would be nice if my years of experience in GPL at this track gave me an advantage, but as the track is pretty simple to learn and the cars are so different from the GPL options I will have to fight for every place I suspect.  Undecided
Maybe Tony could be persuaded to do something similar next year..................... Huh  Wink

Clive & Ziu:
Next year we will have John/Jeeps Can Am cars, which are every bit as much fun as the Trans Am cars on some of the same tracks we used in this series.  Also Tony has a series featuring the Boss 302 on a variety of tracks from Ovals to street race's.  That's the great thing about GTL, so many mod cars and tracks to choose from!!!!!

Things are not looking good for me if you lot are already approaching Mark Donohue's times. I can't even get out of the 1:17's and my tyres are screaming for mercy by about lap 22. Sad I'll have to go for one of my lightning starts and hope you all crash in your desperate attempts to get past me.  tank

But yes, a great series which I love and hate in equal measure, looking forwards to the Boss 302 next year.

I'm quite inept at driving these, but it's still been a lot of fun.  Can Am cars are going to be a blast, and I found myself unusually competitive in the Boss 302, in the one 'real' race we had with it, so looking forward to next season already  Smiley

Cheers,

Geoffers i lost this championship at Westwood, my engine exploded because my fault. The only possibility it s that you make a big mistake monday but i m not thinking about it, just i know that 17 points miss me because i m a donkey. I cannot beat you,one because you are the best driver Season16, second because Camaro Z28 is a wheelbarrow here.

Drive Boss 302 not the same thing, if you remeber GCMCL we had many fun battles. Would be nice if the next time we can have more muscle cars choice and without any restriction just so we can have great battles. Tony these not is a criticism for you but the choice of muscle car is relative, if we think that exisiste a value stair for these car, this is a mistake.

I beat Mark Donohue time with Camaro Z28, but the problem is that with Mercury is possible go under 1:15.
