Moderator's Report

After careful consideration of the multiple T1 incidents at the Monaco F1 event the moderators have decide that no one person was to blame. Several people could have driven differently and the multi car pile up could have been avoided.

We would however like to remind people that extra extra care needs to be taken with these relatively fragile F1 cars, so we ask drivers to not be so keen to push their noses up the inside
or outside of other cars, and to lift rather than desperately hang on to the position.

Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Track: Monaco '79 Download this

Cars allowed: 1967 F1 carset Download this

Please follow the installation instructions posted HERE.

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (28 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 15:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

I don't seem to be able to download the track again.   Sad

I can download Montreal but Monaco gets blocked by my virus checker.

Maybe your virus stuff sees it as dodgy becaue it is the same size as something that is dodgy
Here is an alternat S3 link to it:

https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/phspok1/SRou_GTL_Monaco_1979_1.2.1.0.exe

edit: it works now

That's my own S3 bucket, the only other thing in there at the moment is a Honda suspension doc
I copied the official file to mine. I can copy others if required, but it's not an auto mirror.

Using Avast anti virus i have to disable it from avast shield control in task bar to download Tracks or Cars from Amazon, but it is no problem as avast automatically re enables its shields after 10 minutes.

Just done a few laps.

It used to be that one would aspire to taking the chicane flat!  In this incarnation I can't even take the tunnel flat!   Roll Eyes

I think that it took me forty minutes to manage a lap with all the wheels still on.

I tried to host a race so that Simon and I could get some Monaco practice in but I didn't have the option of selecting the F1 series.  ;-(

Any ideas?

Thanks Matt.

I guess that vanishes whenever you are racing?

Not that that happens much!   Roll Eyes

It dissapears when i think it is conflicting with the official one, though It probably doesn't
I tend to leave it running when i am at the same location, as that network can cope easily.
