Still not in shape for racing, guys.
Have to miss this one too
See you next week - have fun !
If it’s the same flu I had it lasts about two weeks, I’ve still got the cough as a reminder.
I had to miss this week’s race (the third race running) because of gout in the big toe of my throttle foot. My first ever attack. I used to think it was funny I think because of cartoons of boozy old Colonel’s in bath chairs with their foot bandaged up.
I happen to be a very light alcohol drinker so it’s not that. When I told friends why I couldn’t take part in my usual activities the most common reaction was to laugh, then apologise and say they heard it was painful and were sure it isn’t funny. I would confirm that. The Doc put me on tablets and a diet. I looked in my freezer. It’s stocked full of foods that are strict No No’s for gout sufferers. Things like oily fish etc. to keep the joints working well. I think that’s taking the Mick.
I notice my practice times for the F1 race at Monaco were not as bad as I feared. I think I was a bit put off by the aliens. I now look forward to taking part in the next race if the gout clears up and I can avoid viruses and don’t get struck by a falling meteorite.
