Moderator's Report

After careful consideration of the multiple T1 incidents at the Monaco F1 event the moderators have decide that no one person was to blame. Several people could have driven differently and the multi car pile up could have been avoided.

We would however like to remind people that extra extra care needs to be taken with these relatively fragile F1 cars, so we ask drivers to not be so keen to push their noses up the inside
or outside of other cars, and to lift rather than desperately hang on to the position.

Perhaps it needs patching to 1.1 before the rest of it happens.

Exactly!
Install GTL then apply the 1.1 patch then do everything else

Well..............

I deleted the current F1 install and started again.

Put a new GTL install from the CD on C: drive
d/loaded the V1.1 update and applied.

Then went through the steps on Tony's instructions adding/overwriting Game Data etc
Added the unlimited funds patch

Checked the files in the directory and the files for the F1 cars were there in the "TEAMS" folder.

Fired up GTL-F1....................still needed to have the CD in my drive and enter the disk code on the first boot. Subsequent boots still asked for the CD to be inserted whilst it did a "security check" or something.

Within the game I have all the cars, I can join the lobby etc.......................But still NO 1967 F1 series available!!!

Answers please on a postcard to "The Happy Rest Home for Mentally Exhausted sim Racers" care of nurse Mabel Glutbucket, who will read them to me after I have had my daily injection.  wacko

Edit
PS  I also tried downloading the complete 2.2Gb file that matt offered me last night. sat and watched the counter tick down from 35 mins to zero and  showing the full 2.2Gb d/loaded. Watched as I waited for the magic lantern to say "Finished"......and waited....and waited. It never gave me the "Completed " message and I ended up aborting after 30 mins of waiting.!!

Might give it another go this evening, but for the life of me I cannot see why I am getting these problems when it all went so seamlessly a month ago??!!!

If Mabel approaches with one of those nice white suits that fasten down the back you had better start legging it!

My wife says that I seem a little stressed lately.

She has picked up on small signs like ..the faraway look in my eyes, dribbling and outbursts of muttering in my sleep. Oh! and she says what really drew her attention to my plight was the twitching and involuntary spasms like I was driving a car that was not there whilst watching TV!!

don't know what she is talking about.......................................do you?Huh Roll Eyes

Sounds like GTL Syndrome.

Since all the bits do work, and you have proven this yourself, it seems likely that your familiarity with the installation is leading you to put something in the wrong place.  There can't be anyone more familiar with all the bits of string and sticky plaster than you, apart from Tony!  Perhaps Mabel should visit Tony as well?  Just to check that he isn't trying to bury himself under the patio.

My problam is that I was on the server recently when Ati7 did a 1:28 in a Mclaren, whereas I can't break the 1:30 barrier with a Lotus!  Angry

And, if Tony is still above ground, is it possible to date stamp the replays so that you don't have to keep renaming them?

I can answer that Sir!

You can indeed, but have to edit your .PLR file.  Find the line that reads like this:

Replays Dated="0" // Replays have date in filename

Change the 0 to 1, so it looks like this:

Replays Dated="1" // Replays have date in filename

Probably a good idea to make a copy of the file, before editing it, in case anything goes wrong..  Wink

Cheers,
Erling

The replays are renamed to include the date!

1:28  w00t  I Am Not Worthy? I  Had to go online again to check I was on the right version of Monaco. Has anyone got any times recorded by humans as a guide or know the formula for that special sticky stuff I can paint on my tyres?  Evil

I had used the Replay numbering system in the past to save having to name replays I wished to keep, very useful.

I remember having downloaded a programme for GTL a few years ago that allowed you to deselect cars. You had the option to reselect them again whenever you wanted so no problems online. It was very handy if you had downloaded a lot of Mods and wished to race or practice against cars of your choice rather the random selection that GTL throws up. I lost it when one of my hard drives died and have never been able to find it again. I wonder if anyone knows of it and if still available online where it can be found.

And another thing.....

When I designate a setup as my favourite, for say a Lotus, it then tries to apply it to all the other cars as well!  Is this normal GTL or is my install a bit kranky?
