Championship standings HERE Grid/server capacity: 22 Track: Zandvoort '67 Download thisCars allowed: 1967 F1 carset Download thisPlease follow the installation instructions posted HERE. Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins) Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins) Race: 20:40 (32 laps) Time of Day Setting: 15:00 Start: STANDING Tyre wear: Normal Fuel consumption: Normal Server: simracing.org.uk Monday Password: see aboveNotes: (1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage. (2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. Special Notes: None

Agreed, but the start is still going to be an issue if people start dodging about when the circuit is crowded. On the bright side, we have found a way of stopping Ati7 from winning everything.

Looks like I'm going to miss this one, assuming booked coach trip goes ahead. An "US" week coach tour base in Bournemouth - nice to be chauffeured so you can appreciate the countryside and not have to worry about car parking. Usually we are dropped off/picked up in town or the entrance to the day's event.

Still awaiting the detailed itinerary, Hotel, Gold Coach with onboard wi-fi, double sized fully reclining seat and constant coffee/tea service and New Forest are all the details we know at present. Not traveled Gold before, thought at the price, short notice, it is worth a whirl to see if the "extras" over their normal coach is value for money. That's assuming it will run!

Is there any accepted wisdom with regards to setting up the FFB section of the .plr file so that the steering in GTL feels less like a vague wheelbarrow?

Crivens this is difficult.1:15.0 is my best so far in the 49 which is 1.5 seconds off of the AI pole. The curbs are vicious on the fast stuff, I've been so far off piste I get lost and can't find the track

Clive, sorry I missed this post. IIRC the .plr file is only the texted based input from the FFB setting up screen (but I may be wrong). It's been ages since I set up FFB but I'll re-visit and see if I can remember any tips. BTW I run quite low FFB as I don't like it too hard. BTW what wheel do you have? I remember getting my G25 wheel (now a G27) and somewhere I read that that the best FFB was achieved with this wheel by clicking on Logitech MOMO racing under the heading Specialized Effects. Maybe have a play around with these settings. There is also the Windows USB Game Controls software. Go to Control Panel / Hardware and Sound / Devices and Printers. Find your device and right click on it. Click Game Controller Settings. Highlight your device and select properties. Select Settings. Under Force Feedback tick the "Enable Force Feedback box. I have overall Effects Strength set to 101%, Spring Effect Strength at 0% Same for Damper Effect Strength. Under Centering Spring enable it but set to 0%. Hopefully someone else will post their settings for you to experiment with.

Thanks Tony,
At the minute I'm trying something called FEELS REAL TO ME G25 FFB for GTL, that I found on NoGrip.
I have my FFB strength set to something very similar to your setting.
And I'm at the higher end of the 1:15s in the Lotus 49.
I'm not convinced about the tyres. It seems to me that the harder ones have better grip?

Please report back on any success with FFB Clive.
I too have a very "vague" steering feel on my F1 install, and despite copying everything from my standard GTL install it still feels like all of the ball joints are shot on the steering rack.
Tried several "adjustments" but definitely not happy ATM.

Will do. Perhaps Matt could come and do a house call, next time he is in Southport, to tell me if it feels "normal" to him?

Thanks for that idea Tony, but I find that I always have to crank steering lock up to the max for all cars to avoid looking like a windmill when driving in anger ( or like Magnus Pike? for those who remember him!).
I think I am suffering from the same malaise as Clive L, in that the steering works to a point, but there appears to be an almost dead zone around the straight ahead position. Dead zone is set to zero in the game controls etc. but there is just a total lack of "feel" for about 10 deg either way from center. The FFB causes the "feel" to stiffen when I start cranking on lock , but when the car is running straight or only small inputs are needed everything is too light.
Like I said it feels like a car with all the steering joints totally worn out.
