Btw: I also had a wrong revcounter in my car. The Ferrari revs to 12.000 rpm, but the scale only went to 10.000 in the online version. Quite a nuisance, as I relied more on that than the lamp, for timing my up-shifts.
Erling, any chance that you know which cars rev counter you ended up with? I want to send a report to Terry. My McLaren had a Ferrari dial.

I'm happy for qualifying lap time, less for my best race lap because i lost 1 second. That it mean i did a good job with setup just for few fuel (usually it s the opposite for me). When i tried in the last days the car in qualify condition i was going 2:56,3, but yesterday in the afternoon after lunch i had idea to not touch brake pedal on Malmedy S (earned 0,5 second) and the same thing on Stavelot (earned an other 0,5 second) so i got 2:55,0 just i passed from 5 gear to 4 gear. These idea is born in my mind when i take La Carriere corner and Blanchimont corner without brake and leaving 5 gear just leaving throttle, resulted that output corners 10000 RPM, what i wanted get. I have been surprised about Ferrari 312 66 performance, before to test it i feared that not it was possible to get good lap time because power, but the realty is different. It needed to have a agile car also here, it s too important the output corners here, i got time on the corners Malmedy, Stavelot, La Carriere and Blanchimont. About race i got bad start (not a news for me, i used so), after i was 4th but on Stavelot i pass Maipor and Geoffers then i was behind Attila until Blachimont where i pass him, so i gone way i did just a mistake on Eau Rouge output. It has been a good surprise for to drive Ferrari 312 66 here, but without restriction i think that also McLaren, Cooper and Brabham BT24 were good choice. I tried just Mclaren for see the difference with Ferrari. Grats to Erling (it will hard with you, not need be fast so much when on championship not get mistake and you are perfect driver for this) and big grats to Tony for podium. Erling, also me had the same problem with RPM counter, it seems to me McLaren RPM counter but i dont sure. Also another time with Cooper i got the same problem, i saw Ferrari RPM counter on my Cooper !!!!

Can send it to you when I get home if you like. Thanks Ziu; I try to be consistent, but not always up to me. Especially with these fragile cars, it can quickly end badly - just look at Monaco; zero points for me there, despite all my practice :'( Cheers, Erling

Really loved driving the McLaren around here, only downside being its lack of straight line speed. Had a great battle with Ati during the first half of the race, got ahead a couple of times but the Ferrari was always able to get back ahead on the straight bits. Unfortunately I made a couple of small mistakes & brushed the wall which dropped me back behind Maipor, only temporarily though as both he & Ati went off at Stavelot on the same lap & I inherited a clear 2nd place. Didn't last though as I got on the gas too early at Les Combes on the next lap & hit the wall, steering was now bent & the car would not go straight, so rather than try to limp round for repairs & risk getting in the way of some very fast cars, I pulled off & retired. Congrats to Ziu, Erling & Tony, well done guys. I do think though, that if we use these cars again in a future series, they need to be slowed down. They have maybe too much power & certainly too much grip.

I agree. IMO they should have the same speed and grip as the GPL cars. At the end of the season I'll see if Terry would be interested in doing a physics update.

From the cars available to me, I chose the McLaren as it seemed the least effort to drive and with a little tweak here and there, I managed to make it nicely quick through the slower corners. Managed to hold off Roger in the early part of the race and after Clive made an error (or two) I was catching him quickly. But he pulled away and I was left equally between him and Roger so I just concentrated on not making any unforced errors. Had a scary moment when Attila's car crossed the track between Malmedy and Masta. Not sure how I missed him Managed to control the car and rejoined the track and then remembered to breath. With the fast guys retiring I was blessed with a podium place. I'll take it

They do. Masta was harry flatters in the Lotus, something that I never managed in GPL in anything but a Cooper.

But Ziu was in a slow car!
My PB in the Lotus is a 1:52.8 and if I ever managed a whole good lap then it will probably be a 1:52.5
PS I sometimes get a rev counter without the red segment on it but I haven't a clue where it comes from.

A race of 2 halves for me in the white whale.
The setup was a little bit of an experiment with hard rear tyres and soft fronts, very stiff shocks and close front rear roll bars to give me some response in the corners. It worked well to start the reace and I was happy with my pace, especially in the slipstream of the leading aliens. I was having to back off to avoid rear ending cars at the end of the straights!! I was distracted by the cars ahead swapping around and missed my turn in point at the end of lap 1 which sent me up the bank and definitely bent something...the car was somewhat less co-operative after that. I gradually got used to the dodgy steering under braking and began to reel in Erling. I was almost in slipstream range when I clipped a wall at Stavelot. Whatever had been wrong before was now 50 times worse!!!!!! From then on things went downhill rapidly and the car became increasingly difficult to drive. By the time Tony caught and passed me the car was almost undriveable and shortly decided to remove a couple of wheels to make the demolition complete! In hindsight I should have been a little more conservative with the setup and looked for more control and a little less speed. But when you are trying to wrestle a tank like the Honda through high speed corners, that ain't so easy!! lol
I agree that these cars seem a bit too fast with too much grip. Even the Honda was through Masta without lifting and if I could have found more speed, there was still grip available to take that section even quicker. My rev counter was also wrong with a 10k rev counter in a car that red lined at 12k??

As usual a non prepared race, I really can't find time to practice and those F1's are so fragile to drive,
Anyhow I guess I picked the wrong car, I loved this version old Spa flat all the way, very convenient for these fast cars, At the start I hit someone who didn't move at the green lights so I'm sorry for that, then I gained 3 positions and from there the first few laps were good but couldn't follow roguk in front of me and even the gap was getting bigger, I surely picked the wrong car, the Cooper, in fact I had no idea which car was best, to make a long story short in L5 I lost concentration at some point and my car went to the grass and up to the sky I dunno on which planet I landed but I was flying in a no gravity area and my car was going up and down left and right so all I had to do is to watch the race which my car flying !!
Then I got a DQ and I left the game !!
Congrats to Ziu, Erling, Tony and all the finishers !!!
Cheers
Michel
