Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 2240s

There are two parts to this incident. Part one concerns Bob M. rejoining the track in an unsafe manner. Part two involves Roguk and Phspok colliding. We will deal with Part one first.
Although Bob M. has convinced himself that his rejoining was the cause of the aforementioned collision we can not support this claim. The replay shows a clear track, from the cockpit of Bob M\\\\\\\'s car at the point of rejoining the track. He joins in a controlled manner and moves to the RHS of the track allowing enough room for others to pass and proceed\\\\\\\'s to accelerate away. We therefore judge this rejoin to be as good as could be expected in the circumstances.
Part two involves Phspok and Roguk who are fast approaching the recovering Bob M. vehicle. Phspok passes Bob M. but is hit by the Roguk who apologises but fails to slow to allow Phspok to retake his position, either immediately or on any lap after the collision. We therefore fine Roguk a three posion penalty.

Why not just turn the 'Other car volume' setting down a bit ?

Maybe you can find a compromise where you can still hear the other cars (and thus what they're up to), and hear your own at the same time.

Don't know if it impacts your replays too, but if it does, you could experiment with the settings, checking the result via the default in-car view of your replay from Zandvoort.

Cheers,
Erling

Cheers but I really want to hear what you lot are up to.  I might stop my turning in on you!   Roll Eyes

I have found that the .aud files are specific to each car so in Aston-Martin_DBR_V025.aud I have halved the non-player bits thus:-

// ENGINE VOLUME MIX

playerEngineVolumeMinimum=0.4
playerEngineVolumeThrottleFraction=0.7
playerEngineVolumeRevFraction=0.5

non-playerEngineVolumeMinimum=0.5  (Was 0.9)
non-playerEngineVolumeThrottleFraction=0.5  (Was 0.9)
non-playerEngineVolumeRevFraction=0.4  (Was 0.Cool

We shall see what we get.   Grin

I had similar issues when I started crashing around in GTL. The engine sound of "other cars" was drowning out the engine noise of my own chariot, so I was either delaying an upshift and getting swamped off the grid, or not making a downshift at the right time into a corner and losing either engine braking or acceleration through the apex. Also as Clive L has experienced, trying to work out where the rest of you guys are was almost impossible!!

However I did not resort to the tweaking of software values like Clive L is proposing ( can you just imagine the number of posts that would generate, as I tried to recover my PC to working condition??!!).

I did much as Erling suggests and simply adjusted the sliders in the game audio area until I could just hear the opposition, but my engine sound was dominant. I seem to recall that I lowered the volume of my own car too, until I was happy with the audio input to my allocated racing brain cell.  Wink

LOL

This would also be my preferred solition if the Aston wasn't three times as loud as everything else!  If I adjust the sould volume of all other cars, so that the Aston is right, then all the rest will be in stealth mode!
