@ Will - For the sake of my sanity can you check something for me please?

In the folder UserData you will find a file yourname.plr. Can you open it with Notepad (or similar) and scroll thru it until you reach the Multi-player section. Look for these lines

Host IP Address=
Online Server=

What do you read after the =

Host IP Address= 87.106.216.161
Online Server= GTL_SERVER.TXT
Ok, can I suggest that you change it to look like this

Host IP Address=""
Online Server="GTL_SERVER.txt"

By all means keep a unaltered copy of your.plr somewhere safe if you like.

Yeah still not working... and Yes I have an unaltered copy nice and safe  Smiley

Thanks to all those who have been helping me try to sort this out... I really appreciate all of your efforts but unfortunately I found out this morning that a close friend of mine passed away last night due to a heroin overdose.. so I'm in ruins right now :'(. I will be taking a break from this server issue to attend to personal matters but rest assured I will be back at it. Hope you all are well and healthy... enjoy the races  Smiley

I tried using multiple new usernames and passwords... all I get is "registration failed: could not connect to the server"

Although this situation is extremely frustrating I will not give up and hope to figure all this out so we can meet on the the track.

Just an idea as I had/have that issue every time I try to "register" a new GTL for online gaming (10 years old original DVD): does your antivirus software allow the connection to the server? I got a.m. message each time together with a popup from my Avira (still using XP) which asks me whether I want to allow the connection to the server.

Good luck.
Kurt, on a slightly unrelated matter; I pinged www.gtl-server.net last night and had a return IP of 37.59.215.248. This is not what we state in another thread under GTL Announcements. https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=13595.msg244611#msg244611  I'm thinking we should delete this thread if it is miss leading/wrong. What do you think?

I'll look into it when I'm at home tonight ...

Sorry - unable to answer yesterday evening as I'm without internet connection at home for the first time in seven years  Huh

Only found out that I obviously deleted the "LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt" file in all of my GTL installs which are used online. I remember that I could not connect to the lobby too during last winter and found  - I assume at Altbierbude - an information that it is no longer necessary and can/has to be deleted.

Concerning the ping I'll look.

edit: online again  Cool still working with me: 91.121.27.29 www.gtl-server.net
although I pinged    PING www.gtl-server.net (37.59.215.248) 56(84) bytes of data.
                                            64 bytes from 37.59.215.248: icmp_seq=1 ttl=120 time=34.9 ms

                       too.
