I tried using multiple new usernames and passwords... all I get is "registration failed: could not connect to the server"
Although this situation is extremely frustrating I will not give up and hope to figure all this out so we can meet on the the track.
Just an idea as I had/have that issue every time I try to "register" a new GTL for online gaming (10 years old original DVD): does your antivirus software allow the connection to the server? I got a.m. message each time together with a popup from my Avira (still using XP) which asks me whether I want to allow the connection to the server.
Good luck.
Kurt, on a slightly unrelated matter; I pinged
www.gtl-server.net last night and had a return IP of 37.59.215.248. This is not what we state in another thread under GTL Announcements.
https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=13595.msg244611#msg244611 I'm thinking we should delete this thread if it is miss leading/wrong. What do you think?
I'll look into it when I'm at home tonight ...
Sorry - unable to answer yesterday evening as I'm without internet connection at home for the first time in seven years
Only found out that I obviously deleted the "LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.txt" file in all of my GTL installs which are used online. I remember that I could not connect to the lobby too during last winter and found - I assume at Altbierbude - an information that it is no longer necessary and can/has to be deleted.
Concerning the ping I'll look.
edit: online again
still working with me: 91.121.27.29
