Apologies to Erling, don't know what happened there. Got a wheel slightly on the grass & suddenly I hit something invisible. Sorry again. Was good race up to then.

Geoffers, i think it s a defect track, on practice i had the same problem so i decided to make my setup with a little understeer to avoid to close too the first corner. The instinct bring us to close because is a speed corner so the only solution it was to drive with understeer also if it was tiresome on Lesmo corners, less on Parabolica because the input is more slow, or better still it helped to have a cleaned traction.

Well, a third place was unexpected. (but I'll take it). Just call me Verstappen.
Couldn't decide between the McLaren and the Ferrari which in testing looked like my two best choices. I had taken the McLaren before and as this was Monza decided on the Ferrari. As the race progressed I became faster and faster and worked my way up to sixth but never able to catch Frankie or the very quick guys. Then three retirements took me up to third place. For once I was able to reach the chequered flag with no drama's or off road excursions. Lapping Kurt gave me a moment as on the straight down to Parabolica he twitched to the right just as I decided to pass him on the right. Could not of missed him by much! Remainder of race was just a cruise to the line.
Congratulations to Ziu and Erling on their respective 1st and 2nd places in the Championship. Also commiserations to Geoffers and Erling for a fluke incident which is impossible to plan for.

Apologies to Erling, don't know what happened there. Got a wheel slightly on the grass & suddenly I hit something invisible. Sorry again. Was good race up to then. No worries Geoffers, as Ziu says, it must be a track defect, and you definitely didn't hit it on purpose (I hit it offline too, so stayed clear during the race) Expected the Ferrari to be at a disadvantage on a power circuit like Monza, so surprised to be 3rd on grid. Didn't see Franky make a bad start and be replaced by John, so thought it was Ziu & Franky I was chasing. Thus very confused when I turned on driver tags after several laps, and discovered it was John. Where did he come from - and where the h... was Franky ?? Ziu got past John, and I got closer to him at one point. Behind me Geoffers was closing in. Had to back off momentarily, for fear of colliding with John. That did nothing to help me stay ahead of Geoffers, who eventually passed me on the entry to Parabolica. Quite humiliating actually - he's never driven the Ferrari before, cobbles together a makeshift setup in the 11th hour, and while I beat him in qual, he thrashed me in the race. Guess that's the difference between alien and mere mortal.. While I chased after Geoffers, the driver behind - Franky presumably - chipped away at my 5-6 secs lead, a couple of tenths each lap. I did mental calculations about whether I could stay ahead till the end, if we continued at that rate. Problem solved itself however, when Geoffers hit the invisible obstacle, and his car seemingly exploded in front of me. No chance to avoid the debris, so my race ended there too. Grats to podium and especially Ziu for the Championship. Looks like 3rd is up for grabs by several drivers, so the last races should be exiting for them Cheers, Erling

Grats to the podium and my team mate Ziu for winning the series championship. Not a very good race for me, but it never is with these cars, too fast for the old guy. Also had a problem with my shifter, and I use sound more than I should I guess. Sometimes it would work OK and then it would miss a shift and mess with my head. At the start I bumped it into first and at the green hit the throttle and dumped the clutch and nothing! Still in neutral. Why don't these things happen during practice? Then a while later going into the last turn, no downshift so overshot the corner and messed up the chassis. Made it around to the pit and fixed it which put me 2 laps down I think. Coming out of the pit"s I got behind Tony and followed him for a number of laps, then lost him due to the shifter again. Had a couple of close calls with Kurt coming back on the track on the last turn that I overshot. Wasn't trying to take you out, honest!!! Gotta get the shop vacum out and blow the shifter out again. Inherited a big black fuzzy cat from our grand daughter (apartment is a no pet place) and I'm sure he is the culprit. Hates me but loves the wife so he has a home for sure. Again grats to the top guys.......

To be honest Erling the Ferrari was dead easy to drive compared to the BRM I started with, far more grip & much better brakes. It was just a case of altering the brake bias, a couple more notches on the rear rebound & sorting tyre pressures & gearing. More time with the BRM would have got it fairly competitive but default setup is all over the place, nearly undriveable. Although I have got faster over the years, I am far from alien. There are guys who no longer race GTL who were streets ahead of me. JohnW over at NG beats me every time & in certain cars you are far faster than me as is Ziu.
