No. off laps reduced from 40 to 30. Thanks Ziu Why - is it supposed to be a 30 min race ? Just to be sure; it is the same Watkins variant we've just been on in the Trans-Am series ? Cheers, Erling

Tony you dont understood me, i wanted said to you that 40 laps was few, 42 is right. Pole is under 58 seconds, race pace is 58 seconds. But i m not sure could be more fast i have try some thing even on my setup. The key is corner 4, the problem is that the tyres get good temperature after some laps then the car could be some understeering if i solve it i think to earn 0,5 seconds but is very difficult. These track has few corners "resources" for me the only point where make a good lap time is corner 4 but need delete the understeer and this is the real challenger !!!

It s clear that i got this lap time with Ferrari 312-66, but who can drive POOL3 cars on these track will have an advantage of 1 second. Usually this advantage is more large but Watkins Glen 67 is very short track with few resources. I dont tested any Pool3 cars but i m sure in theory about these difference.

Rather quiet race for me again. Early doors I was in fifth place but unable to keep up with the lead four drivers. Jeep soon caught and passed me and he soon disappeared into the distance to join the lead group. Comfortable lead over Bob and Roguk so just enjoyed the car and track combo which I thought was one of the best of the series. Now just Mexico to go............

Rather quiet race for me again. Same here . Jumped from 4th to 2nd at the start & that was about it. Ziu disappeared over the horizon & those behind kept a safe distance! Only real excitement came when I happened across Bob's car in the middle of the track. How I missed him was more a matter of luck than judgement. Congrats to Ziu on yet another 67F1 win & to Jeep on a fine 3rd place.

Tough race for me yesterday. Late in qual I was in 4th-5th place, but in a final kamikaze stint, I somehow shaved 0.6 secs off my pb and thus landed 2nd on the grid For the life of me I can't figure out how to get fast off the line in these cars, so bound to lose places at the start. Line abreast with Ziu, but he shot off, with Geoffers in tow. Clive had a look, but stayed behind, while John rather rudely barged through, only to run wide and hand back the position. Down the 2nd straight, Clive frustratingly just powered past in his Lotus. I seemed to have the edge in the corners though, so it was the start of an intense chase over the early laps. By staying close, I got a tow on the straights, preventing Clive from getting away. Couldn't pass though, as the engine was already screaming its head off. Some hairy moments, because I couldn't see my brake marker down the main straight, when I was so close to Clive. Desperate (too)late braking, combined with sheer willpower was all that prevented me from taking him out. If Clive happened to look in his mirrors during those moments, he would have been able to count the stone chips in the snout of my Ferrari.. While all this took place, I also had to fend off the advances from John, who was back and looking for an opportunity. Clive finally clipped a kerb, spinning off. Nice, then I could concentrate on getting rid of John, or so I thought. Not so however; having lost my Lotus-tow, I had even more difficulty shaking him off, even when driving above my abilities. Ran wide in the final corner eventually, opening the door for him to pass. Tried to hang on, but more mistakes from me soon gave him a gap of some 5 secs. Try as I might, I couldn't close the gap. Scratching my head over this - if I could beat him in qual, then why not in the race. Only after we finished did I realise he was in a 67 Ferrari, and thus had a material advantage, at least on paper. Hats off for being able to exploit it though - I would have been slower, as I hate the 67 Ferrari just as much as I love the 66. Back in the start of the season, when I had access to more cars, I tried in vain to make it handle as well as the 66; no matter what I tried, it still handled like an understeering dog. Also had to keep an eye on Clive, a few secs behind me, in case he staged a comeback. Around halfways through, he started to drop back (tyre wear maybe ?), so no more threats from behind. Grats to the podium Cheers, Erling

[quote author=Erling G-P link=topic=13472.msg254314#msg254314 date=1479219227 Down the 2nd straight, Clive frustratingly just powered past in his Lotus. If Clive happened to look in his mirrors during those moments, he would have been able to count the stone chips in the snout of my Ferrari.. [/quote] and on each lap I was cursing at Erling's ability to brake so deep into the corners!!!!! and pull back any gap that the Lotus pulled out on the straights My tyres were fine and the softs were barely showing any wear, so the setup must have been "in the zone". So, I tried to brake later and later to match him, until I took it 5 mtrs too far and lost the rear end. After that I was trying too hard and braking too deep ( still trying to work out how Erling was doing it!) instead of driving smoothly. A few more mistakes dropped me back, but with a large cushion behind I could cruise to the flag and even had the luxury of allowing Ziu to lap me 50 mtrs before the flag so that I did not need another lap. Despite the mistakes, this was the best race for me thus far in these GP cars. At least I had some pace even if it was not enough to trouble the fast guys. Grats to Ziu, Geoffers and John, but a thousand curses upon Erling for making me think he was a wizard on the brakes!! Although he must have been pretty good because he never went wide or stuffed it into the hay bales..............so he must know something that I don't!!!

Thanks all for nice race evening, what i can say that i had some problem with tyres temperature on the start and and after mid-race, the car was good but not perfect. I m not so much happy with myself about qualy because on my best lap i was -0,167 on T2 but i made a mistake on last corner, i braked too long and i lost the perfect apex. About qualy i wanted apologize with one driver Ferrari 312-66 (Erling, Geoffers, Roguk?) i dont remember who.......because i passed him during fast lap i had good speed because also me i was on my fast lap, if i disturbed someone of this drivers, sorry.
