Replay now posted.

Unfortunately we have a problem importing one of the cars into the results system. I will post the results as soon as possible.
Hi Tony,
Check my car.. I'm not aware of any issues but in my own replay I'm on the track alone. The server replay shows me just fine but something a bit weird somewhere.  Huh

Did you load the replay straight from the race ?

If so, it's very common for some (all?) of the other cars to be invisible.  If you exit and load it a second time, things will be normal.

Aha, didn't know that. Yes you are right Erling, Restarted GTL and all looks fine in both replays..

1 thing I did notice in the race was I had the wrong instruments which I know has been mentioned before. My F1 GTL install gave me a blue screen of death last night so I had a rather hurried re install into a virgin GTL load to get on-line tonight.

Just to clarify: you don't have to exit GTL; only the replay and then load it again.

I'm not sure my revcounter was the right one either, but at least the one I had went to 12000 rpm. Earlier I've had some with 10000 rpm scales, which was really annoying in a car that revs to 12000.

Sorry Tony for the massive bump which obviously destroyed your race  Embarrassed. Didn't expect that I was able to brake so much later than yourself at that corner of the track.
Had to pit myself but car wasn't driveable any more so I quit.

Thanks a lot for organizing this series - looking forward to the change from F1 to CanAm.

The dial was of Eagle because SpecialKS was the first to go on the server, i was the second so Ferrari dial was of Eagle. About rpm for me it was right because the V12 Weslake it s at 12 rpm like Ferrari, at least on my car was so.

Enjoyable finish to a great series yesterday.

Ziu's pole time was otherworldly, so 2nd on the grid was the best I could have hoped for.  As expected, John made one of his usual lightning starts, mugging all in front of him. I can't for the life of me work out how to get fast off the line in these cars, but I'm sure he'll mock me about how easy it is..  Undecided

To my surprise I was in 2nd at T1, so somehow Ziu's start must have been worse than mine.  In a couple of laps he had closed the gap, and shot past going into the final curve.  Being so close, I was sucked along in the slipstream down the straight. I had to pick between pulling out and overtake, or back off and stay behind. Chose the latter, as he was obviously faster, and I figured it was tactically to my advantage if he could harass John up front.  To my surprise, it took him quite a long time to get close to John, and then he had a moment at T2, letting me past again.

I did not exactly help myself stay ahead when later on that lap, I completely bungled my gear selection when entering the long string of S-curves. Was one gear too high in most of them. A lap later we had a repeat of the first time Ziu passed me.  Again I held back down the straight, hoping he and John might slow each other down.  Again many laps passed before he got real close to John, but once he got past, he quickly extended the gap. That only added to the puzzle of why he took so long, but maybe John's 'Verstappen defence' made him vary of making a move..

After Ziu had gone, I very slowly reeled in John over several laps. He had moments here and there, but exploiting them proved difficult, as he seemed rather determined to keep his position  Wink
Increasingly though, he appeared to have problems at the very tight 1st-gear hairpin, finally losing enough momentum for me to make it past. 5-6 laps to go, so wondered if I could hold him off till the finish.  Turned out not to be a problem, as the gap extended a little with each lap.  Maybe his tyres were worse than mine, which were still fine.  Thus a great finish for me.

Grats to Ziu on the win and of course the Championship  clap clap clap   Grats to John on the final podium place.  Not sure who got 3rd in the Championship, but grats to whoever it is  Smiley  clap clap

Thanks as always to Tony for organising a great series!!

Cheers,
Erling

No probs Kurt. I was too hot going in to the turn and had to brake harder than you probably expected. Anyway I enjoyed watching the fast guys battle. Can't sat that this track is a fav of mine so wasn't such a hardship to miss out.

First thing thanks to Jeep and Erling for funny night, after the battle of yesterday is useless to talk about  setups or  lap times or standings because all this stuff is secondary. What is important that yesterday we got a great race not for the win but for the content the battle, it could be for the last places but after the races i was very satisfied, i remember a simile after the race at Bryar, Clive Goeffers and me.....

About race Erling wrote all on the his post. My compliments for John and his style it has been very very hard to pass him. He had the advantage of the engine on the start straight but i think that he drove very good on the corners after hairpin. I think that he had a problem with braking balancing mostly after half race with few fuel, it seems to me so.

I know that Erling is a tactic driver and when i saw that he give up to stay too closed to me and John it was clear that he was waiting......maybe a contact between me and John ? Well, i found a nickname for Erling "The Professor" .

Grats to Erling and John not for podium (yesterday not so much important) but for battle and Big thanks to Tony, he has been very wise put S&G off and watching the video posted from John it was right so.

I hope to see an other F1 championship when it will possible, but for sure if Tony organize  F1 1967 championship again I will drive every race Ferrari 312-66, these car became Ziu car, i never lost one race with my Ferrari.

Well, you can always hope  Grin - and thanks for the nickname  Smiley

Edit: The only times I was waiting, was down the straight after you passed me in the curve.  Everywhere else, I was going as fast as I could  Smiley

Our very first open wheel F1 Championship is finally done and at last we can hail Ziu as the outright winner  I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy I Am Not Worthy

2nd Erling (The Professor)  punk punk

3rd Geoffers  thumbup2

Well done Gents. Thanks to everyone for taking part in this new series. The mod is almost perfect but it's a shame that we have that "wrong dials in my car" problem. Also they are a little to quick and have too much grip. Will they return to UKGTL? All I can say is possibly and leave it there  Undecided

3rd Geoffers  thumbup2

Huh, how did that happen!  Huh

This track highlighted how far I am from being half-decent in these cars. I only did well at Watkins Glen because the track was so easy. I know I have said it before but I really don't like these cars because they are so unrealistically fast & have too much grip. That said, a big congratulations to Ziu who has really got these cars sorted & been utterly dominant in the Ferrari. Also to Erling in 2nd place in the championship, very well done. Congrats also to Jeep, great drive last night.

Finally many thanks to Tony for superb organisation.  thumbup2
