Axel, be sure to remove any drvc69.ini's in the monza track folder on the server, or that file will be used instead of the generic file which I fixed Wink .

I think the non-generic, track specific files are okay anyway, but we want to try out the generic file.

I did a global search for the drvc69.ini's and found them in several track folders, I deleted all of them on the server.

The one in the Watkins Glen folder had the same #12 double  Roll Eyes

When the 1966 Can Am mod comes, do the same or you'll get blank cars Smiley . I'll release a server package too overwriting the driver.ini's with the generic ones.

I'm way below the GPL rank for 69X on this track, but the chassis I'm finding most comfortable is the 312.  Cool See y'all later.

Not very impressed with my driving on lap 7. Was absolutely oblivious to any flags that may have shown on the approach to Curva Grande. Apologies to anyone I hit  Roll Eyes.

Enjoying the race up until then though. Server was very stable for me at least  Smiley. I won't be able to turn a wheel until 2016 so a very Merry Christmas to all  Smiley.

Congrats Piero, Rob, and Andreas!

My apologies Rob and many others. I needed to brake a little sooner for Lesmos. I needed to turn in to make the turn but I'd have nailed Clive. I still gave Clive a bump but at least I didn't wreck him. I ran out of room on the left and rammed the end of the guard rail. That threw me directly into Rob. Sad After that all I could do is sit still and hope others could avoid me. Then I thought I could reset cleanly but Dave bumped me and I ended up in the middle of the track. No place for Jonny to go, sorry. Then I stopped on the side of the track and waited for everyone but Fran to go and reset again. After 30+ seconds at Lesmos I was far behind. Eventually others waited for me to catch up. Thanks Axel.

Lots of fun running with Tim and Axel in the second half of the race plus it was fun, trying for a long time to get into Axel's tow.

Thanks guys.

I tried to join the race to make up the numbers (I don't drive the 69's usually) but when I joined the track I had no steering or throttle/brake controls.
The calibration worked whilst on the server but not on track. I found this also to be the case offline.

Anyone know of this issue or a fix?
cheers,
roo

With a bit of luck (and a tow from Axel Smiley ) I got a surprisingly good grid position, and I could built on that and had a really great race. Maybe one less reset would have been better, it still was fun. Thanks all who was involved Smiley
Congrats to the winner and podium finishers!

I think my one working brain cell was asleep last night. I started qually in the Lotus and was absolutely baffled when I was 4 seconds off the pace!!! With 15mins to go before the start a little light switched on somewhere deep in my mind......Is this the Lotus 49??? or 49b??

Doh!!

a quick switch of cars and some frantic laps to check the race setup promoted me to 3rd spot on race fuel. Unfortuantely I had not practised the start and just bogged down off the grid.
I tried to keep it straight, as cars passed me left and right, just waiting for the nudge from behind . Thanks guys for avoiding a slow car!!

I had guessed at the gearing to be sure of being safe in slipstream and it worked quite well, I was able to regain a few places and set off after the leading quartet of Robert Teso, Piero, Axel and Angex??.
Slowly I was closing the gap and had just got into slipstream range when 2 of them tangled at Lesmo 1, I thought that there was a gap, and almost made it through but a spinning cat clipped my rear wheel and I was swung around into the armco. A couple of hits by following cars bounced me around and I rejoined back in about 6th place.
Set off after ( Tim? )  whilst Jani was always pressing from behind.
Then there was Curve Grande........ Another pair of cars touched ahead and once again I saw a large gap, but just when I thought I was had tightened my line and slipped past the spinning cars.... Undecided
Chasing cars were caught up in the mess and I was hit a couple of times before I could regain control and get going.
Eventually Jani and Robert Teso caught me in their Mclarens and it was about then that I discovered an extra 10 gallons of fuel that I was hauling around! I could hold them in slipstream, but was always left on acceleration.

jani and Robert ouched at Parabolica and I inherited 5th right on Robert's tail. I think I had too much wing as I was faster through most corners but slower on the straights, and so I tried a banzai move on the last lap around the outside of Parabolica....it did not work! Still recovered to keep 5th, great fun guys.

grats to Piero, Robert and Angex.

That was good fun - glad it was a fun race though as I think I threw myself into the gravel at Parabolica twice when cars ahead braked earlier than I was ready for  Grin
I'm surprised how far off my lap record the M7 given the fairly silly top speeds these things have...

I think apart from Greg blinking in and out a couple of times later in the race (Looked like 'normal' lag to me) I didn't have any issues with the server at all.

HA!  EVIL!  I've fallen into that trap myself in the past.  Not all Lotus 49's were created equal!  Smiley

Had a bad start, bogged down having not properly tested 1st gear, and half the field was on and over me. Took it easy but then lost time and trackposition at Lesmo 1. No worries Greg.

Like Sam and others I didn't slow properly for the ugly wrecks after Curva Grande on Lap 7. Saw a car sitting at the armco, thought that was it...but the whole track was blocked....with a lot of luck and good reaction I could avoid the whole mess, which promoted me from 10th to 3rd or so...

It was quite reckless in hindsight, my apologies...

Then had a little fight with Andreas, who lost touch after a little mistake out of Lesmo 2. Then second half of the race ran alone, with no chance to get back to Piero...

Grats Piero and well done Andreas Wink

Thanks all for racing and Axel for organizing Smiley

PS: another funrace Tuesday 22 December, with the 66 mod at the new Riverside 1966 track!

Thank you all guys!
Nice to see the two Robert's ...

For Christmas like all good children, I express my desire !!
For 2016 I would like a championship sports brand with the Ford GT or Ferrari, any .. like the old Porsche Cup !!

What do you think?
