Thanks for running the race guys, sorry I didn't show better for the Santas...got our a$$es whooped!

I had a reasonably fun time, but was struggling in the Ferrari.  I only drive 65s occasionally and even then generally not the Fez, but I chose it over the Brab since I thought it'd be quicker.  I didn't have a setup so downloaded a 'Dark' one which while a bit understeery are generally a good place to start.  This particular setup was okay handling wise but I seemed to be between gears in 3 or 4 corners and revving out down the straight.  I only had about 10 mins to qual (got a newborn at home) and didn't fettle the gears to ensure I made the start.  Most of the race I was somewhere near my team-mate Andreas, we swapped places a time or two but a roll and a reset left me with a gap I couldn't close.  My pace was well shy of the top guys, around 1.5 secs off, which I'm not too happy with, but perhaps I can content myself somewhat with a compromised setup  Tongue  Gotta have the excuses!

Cheers,

Bob

I did not see the message about my "wrong car" until there was only 10mins quali left...lol  I actually thought that I had selected the Lotus and just did not notice the shiny Brabham logo on the steering wheel  Roll Eyes

So, once I had the Lotus I could only practice with race setup and guesswork.
Starting 9th did not look very promising, but I was surprised to find myself on the tail of the leading group of 6 cars after only a couple of laps Shocked.
Great fun chasing down each car, until I made a serie of small mistakes when I was pushing too hard to catch Robert and things got very sideways at Stowe allowing Dean through with only about 6 laps left and no time to catch him.

Then Robert ran off the track and Tris blew his engine!!! very bad Santas!! promoting me from 5th to 3rd in about 1.5 laps. Very Lucky for the elves  Grin Grin

This is always great fun and last night was no exception. fantastic racing from start to finish.
