It's been a long time since I have had to install the DBR2. However the Fifties Enduro race announcements say that the download includes a GTC-65 class fix. Also the download states that the default is to include the class fix. So I would go with the default.

EDIT: Just did a search and now I remember that the original mod did not include the class GTC-65. Our download includes a fix that has this class added to the .car class line. This is the default and should be chosen.

Aha, ok. (So much to learn, so little time) Smiley

I do hope to try to make this one although if the lap times posted in the 1st post are indicative of how fast you lot will be circulating then I will be looking in my mirrors so I can get out of the way as often as I'll be looking at the track ahead.  surrender

If it helps, I'm doing slowish but steady 35's which will hopefully see me to the chequered flag (and maybe pass a few unfortunates in the gravel traps along the way)  Wink

There was a server crash at ABB

they say that we have to change your host - file to 94.23.231.41 www.gtl-server.net,
maybe you should reset your router.

But at the moment nothing works with me.

I wasn’t going to race this week as I was playing in a team Golf Competition but due to the slight excess of rain over the past six weeks it was cancelled. (It’s very hard to hit a golf ball when it’s under water).

I hadn’t really looked at the track until Sunday and thought I might take the AC for fun but at the last minute decided to take the Aston as I was sure it was faster. I had no set up but found one for Goodwood so used that and put the fuel up for twenty nine laps to be safe.

I was enjoying myself  and having a really good fight with Roger  when with about six laps to go I saw  my red low fuel warning light on and realised I was about to run out of fuel.  Huh I could not believe how thirsty the Aston was. I got distracted and went and span the car. I made what was intended to be a quick pit stop for a splash and go but for some reason the tank was filled and the tyres changed although I thought I had deselected tyre change and just put in a splash of fuel. After that I totally lost interest and after a lap driving round on the grass I pitted and quit  censored. It had all been rather enjoyable up to then.

BTW one positive thing for me. I found out why my car seemed to handle strangely in F1 at Donny last week. I had to reset my in game control settings and did it from memory. It was way different to the usual neutral setting I was used to when I checked it. But it made me think it could be worth experimenting with the sensitivity settings. I may find something that feels better to me.

Congrats to winner, podiums and all.  clap

Nice turnout for the first race of 2016, thank you guy's. And if regulars Kurt and Michel had turned up we would have been up to 16!

Please remember that we are keen to attract new drivers so if you know any folk who might be interested in our GTL events shove them in this direction.

As for last nights race, not much to report. Went off at the first turn due to cold tyres being asked to do too much. Bill showed me a new route to take at the Esses by giving me a little nudge up the chuff.

Made up the gap to Misnoimis, passed him then promptly went off, just like my tyres by the half way point. Rest of the race was just trying to close on Roguk whilst keeping the car in a straight line. You certainly know when the tyres are beyond their best.

So not a great result for me but still most enjoyable.

Regrettably missed the voting for the Sprint tracks - otherwise I could have not voted for this track  Wink  Hated it last year and haven't grown fonder of it since.

Would have loved to use the Aston for my 'free drive', just for its glorious sound, but couldn't ignore that I was 2 secs quicker in the dull Merc.

1st lap hectic - couldn't hear a sound from my own car, with all the noisy Astons around.  Lost and gained places, starting L2 in pos 5, with Roger and later Matt in hot pursuit.  Lead group disappeared quickly.  Matt got closer and we were side by side more than once. Shrugged off his advances a few times, but eventually he got past.  I then started a string of unprovoked errors, dropping me down the field.  Ended in 8th, behind Jeep. Chased him over a few laps, realising I could brake later.  In my mirrors, ever stable Bob was lurking, ready to exploit any further screwups from me, so not an option to make any Cheesy

Managed to outbrake Jeep at the righthander before the blue house, only to be outdragged in the run up to the chicane. Repeated the manoeuvre next lap and managed to stay ahead this time (Maybe Jeep held back a little ?)  Slowly worked up a gap.  Was gaining on Matt late in the race, but just as the distance was down to 3 secs, I lost it under braking for the chicane, running onto the grass. Bad timing; just as I was supposed to put a little pressure on him, I handed him an extra 2-sec breather.  Not enough laps to compensate before the race ended.

Grats to the podium and commiserations to those that met with misfortune.

Cheers,
Erling

Great laptime but my start was bad and after I lost the brake point and go into the grass. Last place in first lap.  Embarrassed

But fun race trying to gain positions. Finally 3rd.
Erling, this year will be very difficult repeat the 1st place for teams. Come on!!!

Cheers!

Not a bad start to the new season, although it could have been better!  Roll Eyes

Had a good battle in the early laps with Ati & Ziu, even led for a while, but when the tyres started to go off it became more difficult to be consistent. Still a solid 3rd place looked to be on the cards until the last 4 laps, then some dastardly fiend pinched my tyres, or so it seemed. Grip when braking was non-existent & twice I lost control at the first tight RHer letting Jose & Matt past & only just holding on to 5th from Erling. Good fun though.  Cheesy

Congrats to Ati, Ziu & Jose.  thumbup1

Well, up until Sunday Evening I was languishing in the 1:36's with the occasional high 1:35 Then a few inspired (Depserate) set up tweaks and I found a few seconds and was well pleased to find myself lining up 7th on the grid with a 1:33.566.

Start initially went well, lost a few places and made a few net result was 8th at the end of the lap. Approaching T1 and "What was that"? Ah bugger it was my braking point.. Went wide onto the grass and lost a few places so back to 11th. Caught Senyorlobo at the Cocabana Hairpin and out dragged him down to the Esses but he bit straight back at Beacon Corner and I was back to 11th by the end of the lap. Came across Misnoimis a few laps later  at the hairpin on the grass so up to 10th and was slowly making ground on  Bob M. On to Lap 11 and following Bob through T1 I could see Roguk coming back to us very quickly having messed up his entry and both Bob and myself thundered past either side on the run down to Rifle bend and having the inside line I held off Bob on the run down to the hairpin so back upto 8th. Next Lap and I found Coyote had run wide onto the grass at T1 and I was past and into 7th but a few  laps later he re took the position out braking me at the hairpin but I got a good run down to the Esses and reclaimed the place but a lap or so later her repeated the move and I did not get a good enough exit so was unable to mount a challenge and he slowly extended over the remainder of the race. Picked up another place when Clive had to pit for fuel and spent the final few laps controlling the gap back to Bob as my tyres were just about shot by this time.

So really pleased to have finished where I started. I wondered if I had made a basic error with the amount of fuel I was carrying. I ran a full length simulation off line with 27 laps worth of fuel and ran out at 20 laps. Not sure how much notice I should take of esimated fuel on the set up screen but it did seem way off so put in 12.4G just to be sure and still only finished with just over a gallon left.

Congrats to Ati7, ZuiBacubacu & Senyorlobo on the podium places and everyone who finished.

Thanks for the race, I really enjoyed it. Hopefully I can make most of these and also the 50's endurance events.
