Race: 20:40 (20 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk Monday

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

These race has been one of the best which i never raced. By now it s clear that with TC65 cars and some car as AC Ace i m not fast and yesterday i prefered not make qualy. I had few time for find a good setup i choose in the end the final setup. I was undecuded for tyres presure coast and camber. In the end i choice a prudent setup. I found very good start and after the first lap i was already 4th, honestly i admit which it helped me the contact between Geoffers and Jose. After i controlled Erling, i was better than him in the first part of track after middle track Erling was better than me. I have been behind Jeep many laps it was impossible to pass him, he was too fafst on the  start straight. After i could when his tyres melt. While i was behind Jeep it s arrived Jose too fast and great driver for me  and he overtake me and jeep in the same lap. But the best race moment it s arrived at 7 laps to go when i saw Geoffers coming how a train on my mirror..........and it started a great battle until the race end. I resist  and i get a very important podium for my Team, thanks  Geoffers for battle and fun. My special thanks is for my team mate Attila, i said to him before the race " You must win this race, i cant help you with Ac Ace" and he won in the best way  with his style, Thanks Attila. thumbup2

Was looking like a good race, chasing Erling but I ruined it by getting too close to Roger, misread his braking
and made contact sending me up in the air, and went to near the back of the field. sorry Roger.

Car was bent but ran ok, nearly caught and had a fight with Bob, but got wobbly on worn rears and lost the chance.  Sad

Excellent fun, but big sorry to Jose for tapping you into a spin on the first lap. Fortunately I think it made little difference to the final result.

Had great fun working my way back up from last & a wonderful last few laps trying unsuccessfully to find a way past Ziu, excellent defensive driving Ziu  thumbup1

Congrats to Ati, Jose & Ziu.

Blast of a race yesterday!  Could have wished for a better finishing position, but can't think of another, recent race, where I've swapped position so many times.

Got a little better off the line at the start, and stole 4th from Matt, but lost it again promptly, when Jeep's Aston powered past. Matt got past me on L1, but I reclaimed the posititon next lap. Some laps with Matt in hot pursuit followed; our lap times were very closely matched, so no chance of ditching him, until Roger interfered and they both dropped back.

Bad news in my mirrors soon, when Jose's red Healey rapidly got bigger. He was soon past me, and Ziu + Jeep, whom I was chasing then.  Their battle seemed to slow both - and me, when I couldn't quite find the room to exploit it.  That no doubt helped Geoffers, who was sneaking up from behind. He got past and took off with Ziu, leaving Jeep & me to duke it out. I could go quicker through the twisty bits - if I didn't have a moving, Aston shaped chicane up ahead  Wink  No less than 3 times did I make it past late on a lap, only to be nonchalantly overtaken again down the main straight - no questioning that the Aston had the upper hand under full throttle.  First when I finally got past earlier on a lap, did I have a big enough buffer to remain in front down the straight.  Could then build on the gap through the twisties on the following laps

Late in the race by then and up ahead, Ziu and Geoff were battling for 3rd.  Was reeling them in slowly, but ran out of race before I could join in the fray.

Grats to podium and Geoffers, and commiserations to those that met with misfortune.  Hope Tony is enjoying his holiday, for he missed out on a great race!  Smiley

Cheers,
Erling

Not a great race for me, but it was almost fun..... Grats to Ati for a dominant performance and to the podium guys and finishers.

I had intended to use the Healey 100 for this race and I had asked Arnold and Mabel to load it onto the transporter as I filled out the race registration paperwork online.
When we unwrapped the car at the circuit to start practice, it was pointed out to me by someone called "server" that ... "it was not a Healey!!"  , or to be more specific "car not present on server"!!

So, I took a fresh look at the transporter and I discovered that Arnold had opted for the AC Ace...never driven it before...no setup, and let's face it on last night's evidence.......no idea of how it should be driven!!!  Undecided . Arnold is currently recovering from a sudden severe headache, which started at about the same time as my crash helmet made contact with the back of his head!!. He is also undergoing some tuition on car recognition from Mabel. A slide show of car profiles is shown to Arnold, failure to correctly identify the car allows Mabel to administer a small electric charge though  clips attached to his genetalia as an incentive to get it right next time.

I left the two of them to their education, reassured by the occasional squeals from Arnold that things were progressing well   Wink Had I known at the time that Mabel had taken the opportunity to show Arnold slides of her recent trip around London Zoo and was simply administering random shocks  I might have intervened.  Suffice it to say that Arnold now curls into a ball and writhes moaning on the ground everytime that a Meerkat appears on the TV.!!??

Got a reasonable start and was sure that someone was inside me going into T1 so stayed wide and tried to use the oversteer power to pull the car around on a wide line. MISTAKE 1...Assuming that Arnold had set the car up to do that......it did not quite work and I clipped the final straw bale with quite spectacular results! The only good fortune was that despite 3 barrel rolls and 2 cartwheels the flipped back onto its wheels at the last second with the engine still running!....but I was plumb last.
The car's handling before that incident was suspect...afterwards it was positively dangerous!!

I did pick up a couple of places as individuals had contacts and offs, but the Ace was threatening to kill me at every left hander  and it certainly had my full concentration for the next 10 laps as I tried to balance snap oversteer against lift off understeer.

Geoffers and Jose swept past me without any problems as they recovered and vanished into the distance. I actually thought that I might make it to the end and maybe even in the top 10. But as always when you start dreaming of success, fate bites you on the a**!!

I think I was about to lap Eiffel? and tried to keep it too close to the inside of a bend... of course the little oversteer demon was waiting for just such an error on my part.... the car turned in and caught itself on the tyres with terminal results...race over.

The car was dragged back to the paddock and winched onto the transporter by Mabel, whose cheerful and sunny disposition was in stark contrast to a rather subdued Arnold who scurried around like a frightened rat.
The journey home was quiet and uneventful except for the moment when Mabel commented on the wide range of wildlife in the woods alongside the road and Arnold tried to leap from the passenger door screaming that he would never bring Giraffes and Baboons to a race meeting on the transporter ever again.

Arnold is still dribbling, but has stopped mumbling to himself thanks to ( or perhaps in spite of ) Mabel's concentrated care.
