Fair do's. I couldn't log onto the website today - kept getting a Tomcat website in its place, so chose on memory. I also left practice to early evening - perhaps I should have asked someone during quali to look for me  :'(

Great race for me yesterday; I loved the track and result was better than could be hoped for.

All the cars were nice here, but I liked the Mustang just a little bit better than the rest, so that became my choice.

Found it real hard to get below 1:14, but almost matched my offline pb of 1:13.5 in qual.  Bogged down at the start and got jumped by Roger.  Worrying, as I know he can be very difficult to pass, but luck smiled on me. A little bit of slipstreaming on the straight, and a late(r) brake before the hairpin stole the position again.  Behind me, he was soon replaced by Bob. With his trademark consistency, I couldn't allow myself to make mistakes.  Gradually built a gap, while trying to stay in touch with Geoffers in front of me. Ziu appeared to be gone!

Puzzled to find him parked in the hairpin after a few laps, after an apparent half-spin. Expected him to rejoin and make his way to the front, but then he left. Seems like a double downshift and blown engine in replay (I didn't notice the smoke during the race). Very bad luck Ziu - you seemed on the way to a certain victory Sad

That meant I was now chasing Geoffers for the lead!  He was too fast however, and gradually slipped from view.  Quite lonely race from then on. Looked like I was gaining on him again towards the finish, but too little too late.

Grats to Geoffers for the win, and to Bob for the final podium place.  Commiserations to those who met with fortune; not least Ziu and Steve. Seems like an honest mistake from Steve, and not necessarily one giving him an advantage, as the Mustang is hardly the quickest of the bunch. Can only speak for myself of course, but wouldn't object if the powers that be decided to show leniency in this case  Cool

Cheers,
Erling

Very happy with the result, but not as exciting a race as recent TransAm events.

Ziu in the Barracuda was a different class here & would have won at a canter if he hadn't had a mishap. I couldn't get into a good rhythm for the first few laps & it looked like I would have Erling for company, but once I got comfortable I was able to ease away. The last few laps were a little difficult as the tyres seemed to suddenly lose grip & I nearly went off a couple of times, so I eased the pace at the end to make sure of getting home safely.

Congrats to Erling & Bob  clap clap & commiserations to Ziu  Sad.

Grats to Geoffers and podium.

Not it s because bad luck or accident but because i passed from gear4 to gear3 too soon and engine rpm still high and engine explosed. It s Ziu mistake. These track i dont like not good for fluid driving and it s too short also. I prefer long tracks as Nordschleife Grin. My fault born from the moment i was driving just with my hands and not with my spirit how i usually do. I was fast because Barracuda was good car here.....Ok well now i m forced to win the next 2 races but the problem it s that i finish Burracuda, also if i got in past my best results with Firebird, just it need use Firebird on right tracks.

I hear the plea for clemency for Steve. If anyone objects to a suspended sentence they should pm me within the next week.

Great race for this old guy!  Well not so much me but the 68FB was solid for this track.  Not the fastest top end but has good acceleration and came out of the corners like crazy.  Couldn't compete with Erling or Geoff  but that goes without saying.
After two weeks of frustration with two DNF's got me pumped up again.  I was mostly by myself sandwiched between Erling (losing time) and Roger/Tony (gaining about the same amount of time).  I think I had one off going down the S/F hill into the big right hand sweeper, saw a dust cloud ahead and watched it instead of my own driving.  Just up the bank and continued on. Hope our driver numbers come back, but realize it's holiday time.  See you all in the LM55's next week.

Thanks all
Bob M.

Lol, looking at the results lap by lap, it seems like one of the most uneventful races we've ever had  Cheesy

Had a quiet race in the middle of nowhere after a short battle with Bill and Steve let me pass in the opening stages of the race.
Some offs during the last laps due to a decrease in concentration  Roll Eyes

Thanks for organizing to all involved.

Twas a quiet race it's true. Early on I tried a pass on Roger on the long uphill/downhill straight but missed my braking point and went into the gravel which didn't seem to want to let me go. I swear I heard Roger laughing as he disappeared into the distance. Took me ten or so laps to get up to behind Roger again but this time he went off and I was able to build and maintain a good gap between us. That is until later in the race I came to the first banked right hander to find Steve almost horizontal across the track. Had to take avoiding action and slithered up the LHS grass bank, through a sign, and managed to rejoin the track pointing in the right direction but now Roger was only a couple of sec's behind me. Managed to keep it that way until the flag. I love this track as it appears quite simple but can have you off if you get the braking wrong at certain turns.
