Yank tanks on a track with so many corners would seem like torture, but actually very entertaining to drift these beasts around - you just had to resist the temptation to let it all hang out, for the sake of the rear tyres  Smiley

Was leaning towards the Camaro, as it was the only car I hadn't used, but in early practice, it was one of the slowest and most difficult to handle.  Tweaked the setup, and by sheer dumb luck I apparently pressed the right buttons, cus suddenly the thing started to move!  Became my fastest option, but still surprised to be 3rd on grid, as I'm normally slow in these cars.

Got off the line OK, but outdragged by Matt down to T1.  Spend the next couple of laps harassing him as best I could, reclaiming 3rd when he went off the track (and flipped the car, as I later saw in replay).  Lonely race from then on.  Growing gap behind and not able to catch Geff & Ziu up ahead, but still fun driving the Camaro here.

Didn't expect a good result, so very chuffed with a 3rd place.  Grats to Ziu & Geoffers for the other podiums, and thanks to Tony & Bob for the organising.

Cheers,
Erling

My win is for Attila, my friend i missed you.

It was very important to get Pole here, i known with Pole and without any mistakes on the race it was possible win, i did. Race very difficult to  manage because tyres already after 10 laps  problems. I think that the problem about Mercury it s around to rear Anti-Rollbar, it s blocked at 1.50 that mean the rear glide too more and more with melted tyres. But i think also that this particular gift to me for one only lap qualy. About my battle with Geoffers (26 laps !!!!!!!!!) it seems to me to run again Stardust race, he drove Mercury i was on his ribs and he win with Mercury, yesterday the same race the only difference i drove Mercury these time. I had same  experience on GCMCL, Hockenehim88 with Mercury I win but the race finished at last lap after a grat battle. Geoffers is a great driver and i have used all my experience with these cars and i think that TRANS-AM season will finish at last race after last corner on the last meter with Geoffers. But with Geoffers it s always a pleasure to get battles with any cars. Yesterday it has been the more hard race since i begin to run here but i repeat i used to run in these condition, drive on GCMCL it s a good school and know these cars it s a good advantage.
Thanks to Geoffers for battle and fun, Thanks to Bob for good Team points.

Real shocker for me. I don't generally retire early but having suffered consecutive spins at corners once the tyres were part worn I gave up. Shame as I quite like this track. Still it was entertaining watching the Ziu/Geoffers battle. Nicely done chaps.

Good race for me in the Z28.  Not really a fan of this car but needed to use it, didn't want to waste a higher speed car on this little track with all the corners.  It does have good grunt and handles well on a tight coarse.  As I said before this wasn't a historic Trans Am track but we used it before so it was a known layout.
Sorry to Tony,  I couldn't avoid you and I looked at the replay and I didn't touch you on entry just as I thought.  Was good fun while it lasted racing with you.  If you look at the old films of TA racing, they did a lot of bumping and tapping as we did.  Was giggling all the while!!!!
Next TA race is a a non raced track also, which is tricky but not near as twisty.  Can let the motors work more.  See you all there.

I think Ziu just about summed up our race above. He took the lead at the start & didn't make any significant mistakes from which I could take advantage. In fact it was me who made the mistake around half distance & lost about 5s, took several laps to catch back up but despite my car being faster at the end I had to settle for 2nd place.

Congrats to Ziu & Erling & all finishers  clap clap clap

Despite finishing near the back, I really enjoyed the challenge of keeping such a huge car on the tarmac. Although the Mustang is one of the lightest in the group I found the tyres wearing quicker than anticipated, giving me quite a few Torvill and Dean moments towards the end.

Misjudging the sharp right-hander right at the very beginning (a serious lack of focus there) resulted in serious front-end damage and steering that preferred thereafter to go its own way. But with an ok engine I could carry on and looking at the post-race stats, my best laptime seems to compare  favourably with the pack, but lack of consistency held me back.

Speaking of stats, I've never seen almost identical figures before as recorded by Ziu and Geoffers. Spooky. Well done to you both for your 1st and 2nd places  clap
