Championship Standings

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another
non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

Chortle, shame. Oh just in case anyone had doubts, I WILL be using this track at least twice this year  Roll Eyes
The onyl really didgy bit is the crazy tight right hander half way round. At first I thought it was going to be impossible to do
but I increased the steering lock to 400/30 and practiced it a few times, and although you have to almost stop, it can be done
quit easily once you get the hang of it. I also intend to use Paul RIcard for at least one event, if I can figure out a layout
that suits.

Tracks that I know we will be using so far, are:

American Track Pack
Euro Track pack
Suzuka
Bathurst
Macau
Paul Ricard
SalzburgRing
EDIT: Spa
Nordschleife (when it is resleased)

Cars will be:
DTM92
Group5
Touring Classics
BMW M1 Procar

Maybe the Audi quatro, particularly if it gets any friends in the same class in future.

Ross at Raceconnect has very kindly posted this up for us.

http://www.raceconnect.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=390&t=6490

RC will be running an historic series of their own on Tuesdays commencing February so hopefully we'll have a few of us join them for that too. I'll remind you all nearer the time but you can see what's planned here.....

I just had a go in the Mercedes, and what a great city track Macau is  clap clap

I'm 5 secs from Anty's laptime on the leaderboard, but that's pretty normal I'm afraid  Grin

LOL. I think this track is as much about knowing it as pure skill  Grin

I have just been on line with TT and I was a few seconds faster. It is not often I get the chance to say that
let me just do it again "I was a few seconds faster than TT"
There, got that out of my system  Cool

I have run here before several times in different sims, so sort of know the layout, though the hairpin right half way round
takes a lot of control to not overdo it. I have to take it VERY slowly and be very accurate about when to turn or
I bash the body. Managed a 2:33 just then, with a bit more tidyness I could take a couple of seconds off, in a race
situation the trick here IMHO is to remain calm and not overdrive. It is like Green Hell, a very different track to the normal
so takes a different approach, It is a wild roller coaster ride, and when you manage to get a good flow going it is great fun.  laugh
For the setup I make sure I have plenty of rear grip and front brake bias, or I just swap ends in the tight corners.
Also. I found the Audi to be very hard work here, the other cars are easier, though the Opel is a bit long for the hairpin
it can get round.

I do hope we get a few entries, as being a long circuit, it is a game of gap management, which is cool, but chasing someone when you
keep getting glimpses of them at the next corner is a great rush.

Still learning RRE and I think it's not so much learning it but breaking out the GTR2 habits (how's that in grammar sense? Wink ). Setting the car is different, when I set it to turn in at all it's very unstable in fast turns so I don0t expect to last more than a few laps.  Cheesy

The same here, having raced GTL & P&G for so long it is difficult to get out of the habit of trying to slide the cars through the turns & steering with the throttle. These cars don't really respond to that. I constantly seem to be changing the steering settings, particularly at this track where I need quite a high ratio & sensitivity otherwise I don't seem to have enough lock to get around that damned hairpin.

Best I have managed so far is 2.32 in the Merc, tried the Audi too but it seems far too cumbersome for this track.

I gave up trying to get any of them round Melco, I failed every time. Always ended in a three point turn. I'll renege on this combo, for fear of the mayhem I'd cause.

I have ti run 400/30 steering to get round the hairpin with confidence
I have to go in slow, and turn to follow the skid marks, maybe slightly later
but once I have it, i can get round every time.

Same here, managed to eventually complete a lap with one very battered wreck!
