This race will be a rolling start following a formation lap and the procedure is as follows:

*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*The pole sitter should maintain that speed until they cross the start line and then accelerate away to start the race (lap2)
*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap

Practice: 20:00 GMT (30 mins)
Qual 2: 20:30 (15 mins)
Race: 20:45 ~ 60 Minutes

Cars allowed: Any car from "GTR3" Class
One car change allowed during the season without penalty
Track: Lausitz Automobilsport
Time of Day Setting: Afternoon
Weather: Dry

Start: Manual rolling start with formation lap
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: x2
Pit-stops: Minimum 1 stop required

Server: Simracing.org.uk
Password: see above
Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

No they won't be because the Raceroom devs said they are no faster than the other GTR3 cars  Roll Eyes

Hope they look at the BOP but they seem to think it's fine as it is  Huh

Please note that the layout we are using for this track is Lausitz Automobilsport

I had intended to use the GP layout but T1 is very severe and it is too easy to pick up cut warnings. The rest of the layout is the same for both tracks. Race announcement has been amended.

This track is all new to me, but even though it's a bit hard to learn , I love it allready.
It's many tight turns should ensure some nice close racing.

I hope some of my fellow not-so-fast drivers turn up tonight, so we can have a ball at the rear of the grid as well :- ))

Yep, it's one of those tracks that doesn't look very appealing but is a hoot to drive.

The rolling start went better last week as we had no-one jump the gun  thumbup1

However it was a bit messy and can be improved so please take a moment to read the starting procedure:

*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)

*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap

Ideally we could all engage the pit limiter to set the speed for the start. This worked well in GTR2 as the rear brake lights flashed when the pit limiter was engaged however I'm not sure if they flash in Raceroom. Try and remember to use the limiter tonight and we'll see how it goes  Smiley

Hi guys I'm gonna change my car. Will you take my points now, or at the end of the season?

You'll have 50% of the points you score just for this race deducted straight away and no further penalty unless you change again. Thanks for letting us know Larry  thumbup1

This game... It's really cool,but it's bugged

First I have a great race with John, nice one Champ
2nd I run a fiber line, anything between 20 and 30 mb/s. So it's really amazing how I always lag in these lobbys only, but Thursday all is good
3rd i was coming down the straight as I cross the start Finnish line the revs in the car just max out, I left everything and the car just goes straight and crashes something spectacular.. Please watch the replay, you'll see, if this was a real car, you all would be at my funeral.. Hahaa

In two offline races my engine had blown, so much for realizability

Oh well, well done John, you out smarted me in the pitstops, I took on too much fuel, great race champ

I hope all enjoyed the race.. Well done all

Sorry Postal, I didn't expext that you would try an overtake at that turn during the first lap, and when the crewchief told me "car inside" it was too late, since i was taking a different line for that corner than the other guys, the inside "tighter" one.

Good race, for once the pit crew did exactly what they were supposed to  Grin
had some good dices with Spanner, rammed him up the arterial when he took a slow down right in front of me
had I been more attentive i might have avoided, but caught me out, sorry. Was looking on for 5th when two warnings for other
people came up, and I was distracted enough to put it on the grass allowing spanner to sail past and take 5th back again Sad

@Anty. it has nothing whatsoever in any way at all to do with anyone's download speed, we have had years of running
events here, and it is more to do with packet loss than throughput. You weren't "lagging" when i was following you in qual, but you
were flickering in and out of view. This game seems to have low tolerance of missing data, some sims do prediction
so if it loses some packets your car keeps going in the same direction and speed as it last was until you resync
that is what happens when people jump around back and forth etc. This is not like that, people just dissappear and reapear.
Stig has a very fast connection in Denmark, but over the years he has had some bad luck with being dropped from races etc.
it's all about consistent quality, not speed as such. I haven't done a traceroute to you, but the route from South Africa has to be
more convoluted than from within UK or western Europe. Some remote people have had a better connection to my home brew server
than our paid for one, because the route to them is kinder, but our paid for one is much more reliable so we stick with it.
I expect Sunday evening is a busier time for domestic internet than Thursday evening, which is probably why your South African
packets are being dropped somewhere around Egypt perhaps....  Roll Eyes
Life's a beach and then you fry.
