This race will be a rolling start following a formation lap and the procedure is as follows:

*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*The pole sitter should maintain that speed until they cross the start line and then accelerate away to start the race (lap2)
*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap

Practice: 20:00 BST (30 mins)
Qual 2: 20:30 (15 mins)
Race: 20:45 ~ 60 Minutes

Cars allowed: Any car from "GTR3" Class
One car change allowed during the season without penalty
Track: Spa GP

Server: Simracing.org.uk

Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

Not sure what to drive now after the latest updates. The Ruf is such a great all rounder but now that we have the P4/5 Competizione in the GTR3 class  wub I'm tempted to cash in my one car change for the remainder of this series.

Did some testing and the BOP seems very good now with lap times at Spa being close for me anyway. The Ford and Nissan both have a slight advantage in top speed but the Ford is more challenging than it was before.

The leaderboards have been reset after the update so let's see if we can take some different cars out and get some comparative times up there.

Just a reminder that your setups will not work after last week's physics update so you'll need to select the default setup for your car and start again. Good news is the cars feel and drive even better than they did before  Smiley

And the leaderboards have been reset.

http://game.raceroom.com/leaderboard/?track=3870&car_class=class-1703&driving_model=2

Running the leaderboards is a good way of seeing the relative performance of the cars as once you've set a lap time you can jump in another car and challenge yourself to follow the ghost of your previous car.

Can you? didnt think of that. Actually i did use someone elses ghost to learn from in the FR2 when it came out. Hadnt joined the dots!

Breifly tried the P4/5 as a test drive, didnt feel that good tbh. I do keep eying up the camaro and corvette but not tried them. Corvette seems to be Apex's car of choice. But i seem to need a neutral car, any major characteristics make it hard for me to compensate for.

Previosly to the update i was always amazed how little resources the game used, the CPU usage could be around 30% when racing and the GPU usage was around 50% but I've noticed i'm now getting a little stuttering and less sense of speed and just now noticed the CPU was up around 70% and the GPU usage at 99% when trying to drive Spa.

Not sure what's causing the stuttering as I've noticed no real change after the update (GTX770 on 362.00 drivers). If necessary you can help fps by running low reflections, medium shadows (high looks awful anyway), shadow split off, car shadows off. Try them in that order to gain the most versus visual quality. You should be able to leave shadow split and car shadows turned on.

I use Nvidia Inspector to set my antialiasing and I run vsync in game with no perceptible lag and smooth as butter graphics. Running without vsync always gives me terrible stutter even though I have minimum 80 fps with vsync off (60Hz monitor).

I've updated our thread at S3 forums but please keep it rolling or it will get swamped by other leagues.

Bad luck, was looking forward to the race as you, me and Oscar where really close by qually times!

Good fun with both Oscar and SRW, shame you guys dropped back. Bloody pit in! Theres no warning that a section of the walkway stick out! hit it and spun me around and picked up damage. Decided to not change tyres, indicates wernt even half-way, but then they all turned yellow!

Good fun that! Always helps to have more people, thanks all for turning up Cool

Wow, what a cracker race. The first 30 we where neck on neck, the last 30 i was playing catch up.

After John pitted I really need to push, but coming into turn 3 I got over excited as usual and had a half spin, then I decided to pit that lap, coming into the pits was a joke, but after my pit John must have been happy because he was 20 seconds ahead, but then I was in the zone and managed to have great constancy in my lap times. I pulled John and GT in but the clock beat me.

John was mighty in sectors 1 and 3 and GT had the bus stop aced, I was really loving the middle sectors.

Well done John and GT you deserved it. Racing is much better since the patch I think

R3E @ Spa is an awesome combination, unfortunately I didn't get any time to practice and only managed to log on at about 8:10pm. This was the first time I have driven since the updates and I got caught out......

I thought the car would start on a full tank of fuel (it set a default of 50L), so I was trying to work out how much fuel I would need at the pitstop while racing and got it wrong, meaning I ended up needing a second pitstop to top up the fuel, shame as it was a good fight for fourth place.

The cars feel a bit more twitchy and realistic after this update

I wasnt sure either SRW with the fuel, especially as now you can reduce it for qually, but then the automatic race start means you dont get chance to adjust the setup unless you sit the last few mins out.

Another very exciting race. Never really nailed a quali lap but third place was enough to keep track of Anty and John and maybe pick up any leftovers that might be served up for me.

My opportunity came as John pitted and then on the same lap Anty lost it at Les Combes so I pushed very hard for a couple of laps until my pitstop. Came out of the pits level with John and led through Eau Rouge only to be outrun by the time we arrived at Les Combes....great stuff.

After a couple of attempts I finally managed to pass John as he lost the back end through Pouhon giving me an easy few laps to the finish.

Thanks to those that turned out and a shame we lost you Larry.

Still lots to race for in this series with the 2 worst scores being dropped for each driver. Let's see if we can build the numbers over the next few weeks.

Great race! love this track!

what have they done to the GT3 class used to be able to do 2:18's in the Ford  Roll Eyes only joking it certainly made for some close racing.

Managed to get pole by a whisker from Ant which was good as I think the other two would have cleared off in the race as they were faster in certain parts of the race track. all was going well even after the pit stops when I managed to retain the lead until 6-8 minutes from the finish I lost the back end going round Pouhon  Shocked just a little lack of concentration and boom second place.

Unfortunately I can make the next event as I am off to Keroburn weekend to fly my model jet https://www.facebook.com/events/215784828754493/
if any body wants to take a look it about 4 mins in on this video and its a L39 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gO_6ZosIqhM
