This race will be a rolling start following a formation lap and the procedure is as follows:

*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*The pole sitter should maintain that speed until they cross the start line and then accelerate away to start the race (lap2)
*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap

(2) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the Euro and American Track Packs for this series (And maybe another non pack track occasionally)
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

Wakey wakey, it's race day  Smiley

For those who missed Round 1 of this series don't forget that only the 5 best scores from the 6 races count towards the championship so it's still all to race for.

Results took a bit of fiddling. It refused to accept "Hockenheimring" as the track. I edited the file to say "Hockenheim" and it bought it.
Note for future events, it doesn't seem to understand Hockenheim National.

well done on the win goldtop, great drive. my only hope was to change tyres and hope you would make mistakes on worn tyres but you ended up lapping better times than me at the end :/

Thanks Greg. When I saw you pit I thought you were worried about fuel but it allowed me to back off for a while. Tyres were ok for me with around 97% at the end.

Race felt a bit long to me without a pitstop to break it up and add interest and I'm wondering if the low turnout is a reflection of this. Thoughts?

I don't really like long races at all, but it makes some sense if there are stops.
For me the last 20 mins were boring, and was on the verge of leaving when I found myself in 3rd
so stuck it out to the end while clock watching  Roll Eyes

Yes too long. Maybe with X2 tyre wear would of been more interesting.

Sorry I couldn't make it guys, real life stuff got in the way. I know it's just not fun without me Wink

I'd be tempted to go for 4x tyre wear. In the endurance race in Spa I got and hour and a half from a set of tyres with no noticable degradation and I was driving like a berk. Perhaps 4x wear and 45 minutes would give us a more interesting race - push and pit or look after the tyres

Sorry, but when the grids are this small i think a 60min length is too much. I gave up after 30mins, 15 sec gap each way, i wasnt looking forward to the last 30mins.

And who was driving through the cones?Huh there should have been no reason to hit them as they seemed a bit ooff the line, and i was using them for braking! With them all gone there was no reference to turn off let alone brake. It actually change the race fo rme as i was slowly catching Greg, i'm sure he wasnt pushing Grin by the time i mamanged to readjust to the lack of cones i was 10-12 secs behind Angry

Thanks for the feedback fellas. I wanted to keep this as a simple sprint series and keep away from pistops/strategy so I think reducing the race length is the right thing to do. We could maybe run x2 tyre wear just to spice things up a bit without forcing a stop.

I'll have a think about it and amend the race announcements before the next event.

About those cones, yeah I wondered why I was finding it so difficult to judge my braking there all of a sudden.
