Moderator's Report

SUMMARY

The top four cars break away from the pack on the first lap. Tristan makes a mistake in the braking for the hairpin on lap three, and he is lucky to only lose one position. On lap four, seven cars disco from the server including 1st place Tim and 2nd place Sam. Dean inherits the lead, Tristan is 2nd and Doni 3rd. The battle for third was on between Doni, David R. and Clive. Doni was only pressured until lap 7 when an incident between David and Clive gave him plenty of breathing room. Doni has a screen freeze with 2 laps to go, relinquishing third place to Clive.

The race will not be rerun and the results are final. It would have been different if the mass disconnect happened on the first lap. The only consolation that I can offer to the dearly disconnected is that the 8/10 rounds count rule helps to minimise the affect these things could have on the driver\'s championship.


Server replay time: 0h23m27s

Lap 7 - Begin of sector 3 - David is following Doni closely, and Clive is behind David. David appears to lift or does not accelerate out of the turn presumably to give himself space between himself and Donni. David is 18 kmh slower at the same point than a lap before. Clive reacts as soon as he can, but he does not slow down fast enough. Clive makes contact with David\\\'s gear box. GPL\\\'s damage model exaggerates the damage. Clive came to a complete stop to wait for David to recover, but David had to retire. Both drivers mention the possibility of warp, but there was not enough evidence to change the penalty. Clive is at fault for causing the rear end shunt. In all rear end shunt cases, the following car is responsible for maintaining a safe gap and the driver needs to be cognizant of the possibility of the lead car slowing for no apparent reason.

Marginal Rear End Shunt: The shunter had followed the victim for a lap or two before hand and the victim had changed his braking point. Both the victim and the shunter were in full control.

Season 29 Historic Trophy - Round 6 – Charade

The Charade Circuit (also known as Circuit Louis Rosier and Circuit Clermont-Ferrand) is a motorsport race track in the Auvergne mountains in France near Clermont-Ferrand, the home of Michelin and Patrick Depailler.

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.  

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

All races will be run at 60 frames per second – please use this patch 60fpsV2newmod.

Drivers must complete 50% of each race to score.

This race is for cars with 2 Litre engines.

Please Note: Drivers have to use at least 1 car from each of the groups (Group I, Group II and Group III on the championship standings page).  For example, Philippe has already used 2 Group III cars which only leaves 3 races for him to use a Group I and Group II car.

Screen freeze here too. Was ever so slowly edging away from Sam's far pokier BRM and was just starting to hit my lines when it froze Sad

Same for me.Freezing and very bad frame rate during qualy and race.Sommetime the FR was 15 in race,medium value 25.
Is very difficult to drive with this frame rate!

Really sorry David. 
I was not intending to get too close, or pass, at that point. I have looked at my replay and I think there was a little warp. Suddenly the gap between our cars vanished and I hit your gearbox  Sad

Put in a report and let the mods take a look.

bad luck to all those who disco'd. That seems a lot of cars to lose in one race??

The 69's raced here OK during a fun race I seem to remember.

Isn't 2/3rds being disco'd at once enough to generate a re-run?
