With the non existent, user friendly ability to chat in game it sometimes can feel like your not on with real people. So i thought i'd highlight the fact that we do have Teamspeak running on our server for use while racing. It doesnt get much use nowadays but it would be nice to say hello to fellow racers!

The server details are below:

I like to use a USB or wireless headset separate from the main PC speakers. Makes it easier to adjust the volume levels independently. The Creative wireless one I currently use was quite expensive, even with the 50% off I got it for, so not really sure I'd recommend it.

I used to use teamspeak a bit for descent matches, but I stopped because when someone surprised me in game I had been known
to utter some expletive  Shocked

I remember some years ago someone made an in game comment in a GTL race on here about someone's driving which caused everyone to fall about laughing  Roll Eyes  "For Fxxx's sake GET OUT OF THE WAY!"   lol lol lol lol

Is nice to have some chat before and after the race though, I don't really like distracting chatter mid race myself.

A bit like many find the text chatter distracting I suspect. I'm sure it must be possible to map a mute mic/speakers/make yourself away or something button so you can just do the chatty bit before and after. TS is great when there are issues, it allowed me to alert Spanner to Geoffers invisible car for instance.

Geoffers used to have occasional conn issues in P&G so it may be related to the invisible car syndrome perhaps.

I guess some poeple like to concetrate quite hard during the race. Its not like we're that chatty! There were times we had 8-10 people on which did get a bit distracting at times tho.

You can setup keys to mute mic and speakers if you want to concentrate during the race. It can be useful to know if someones gone off or just to follow whats happening with everyone, it can get lonely circulating round on your own!

I find the headphones/headsets far more immersive, and you can turn it up as much as you want and not disturb others! I do find i get a bit hot around my ears with them on though.
I'm not sure it really matters which one as long as its decent. I used to use this old creative one:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-Fatal1ty-Detachable-Noise-cancelling-Microphone/dp/B00FNK8MK2/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1452863911&sr=1-1&keywords=creative+fatal1ty+gaming+headset

But have used a Corsair pair for a number of years now, which i now cant find online!
