Season 29 - Friday Formula 2 Trophy - Round 12 - Monza

The next round of the Formula 2 Trophy will take place at Monza... Good luck!

In S29 we will race F2 and Sport Car mods alternating.
This Trophy is intented as a fun series, so keep the fairness high and respect drivers with different skills.  Wink

Handicapping:
Heavies - have allways free car choice.
Lights   -  each F2 car can be used only once! Only one GT can be used twice!
Any illegal use of a car will be a DQ! So make shure you have a plan Wink

Drivers must complete 50% of the race distance to score.
ONE reset is allowed but the Shift R must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane within TWO laps.

Please check the Season 29 pages for details regarding rules and the Friday Trophy pages in particular.

Race List =  IGOR
Server = UKGPL_8
IP Address = look at IGOR
Race date = 29-01-2016
GPL mod = F2
60fps patch used = 60fpsV2newmod
Track dir = Monza
Qualification = 20:45  UK time -> 45min
Race = race starts at ~21:30 UK time
Race length = ~45 min -> 26 laps
Damage Model = INT
Replay = you will get here

Please restrict chat to emergency messages only, including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.
Using the "no letterbox" patch makes chat messages in car obsolete, so you better uncheck it in GPL options Wink

There will be moderation only for reported incidents. Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race.

GLA and have FUN

Had a nice race with Axel, but the end was an anti-climax. Maybe shouldn't have put it outside in Ascari, but thought Axel was aware of it...

Protos was too strong, even when it won't turn that well...

SORRY Rob, I was totally surprised and did not expect you there  :'(

But was a fantastic drive all in all, shame we gave the cup to a "cherry picker"  Tongue

No worries Axel. I realize I hadn't done that move whole race. It's just often late race I get more agressive and try "new" things. You can argue who was wrong or right, I took the risk going outside, relying on the fact you were aware. Just a shame we couldn't pull of a close finish, but great racing anyway! Wink

Dean crossed the line first, so he deserved to win, it's that simple! Smiley

I'm not worried Wink

IMO was just a misunderstanding and my fault to not look where you are in that position Roll Eyes

Trade you for a Lotus that turns too well, but can hardly get out of its own way?  Cheesy

Yeah, Greg almost won that lottery, between me seeing the yellow flags and checking Prib to see who's having the issue ahead, and looking back down to "ho shit car on the track!!!", narrowly avoided, then the realization it was the leaders I'd just passed, so the quick calculation of how long the gap back to Greg will hold out if I don't F up any more, while blowing past my braking point for Para. :doh:

Yes,was fun until the incident but after i have lost interest and attention,so i have done a error at Parabolica.
In the replay i was stanned to view yor car going to the pit in flame and with only 1 wheel,something not realistic of GPL.

That happens when your computer decides that he took more damage than actually happened (according to his computer or the server, wherever damage is calculated for multiplayer, I'm unsure), and the correction hasn't got back through the system yet. One of those things you have to ignore, or laugh at.  laugh

I was a bit rusty, been out of it for a while and had a hard time concentrating. I took the Protos coupled with a Greger Huttu Lotus 49 setup, which I modified to make the back end slide more, which I like. I kinda went over the top with that a bit I think, bit too much toe out at the rear and too much rear roll bar, but there was still a relatively accessible sweet spot there, so it was just a matter of how well I could keep my concentration.

Did have a good pace despite some frame rate issues, and ended up P4 even though I didn't have a tow. Start was good but a bit hairy when Axel forgot where I was for a second and we almost tangled on our way to Curva Grande Cheesy . Got through cleanly until exiting Lesmo 2. I saw Roo having troubles and a huge tankslapper resulted in him collecting me and giving the roll hoop a good workout Smiley .

After the reset and stop and go I was dead last, but decided to carry on regardless as the Protos actually handled quite nice. Passed Bastian early on, before my concentration slipped and I forgot to slow sufficiently for Parabolica. Picked up Bastian again and ran the next 20 laps without any major mistakes or close calls, while the pace was good too, so happy with that Smiley . I managed to avoid the carnage at Parabolica where Dave, Roo, Francesco and Doni collided, and towards the end found Doni and Carlos fighting for P5. I slotted in behind them until I found a gap two laps later and got by them. Doni was able to follow me for a while before I was able to shake him off. In the last two laps I saw Axel appearing in the distance, but the race ended before I had a chance to catch him.

Glad to finish only 18 seconds back after being dead last after lap 1 Smiley .

Uff i was fighting with Doni and Carlos beginning of the race. Doni opened up a third lane into the straight towards parablica.

I was afraid there is not enough space and ran over Carlos wheel. fortunately i was affected most by my mistake but you lost some time guys. I'm sorry. No good overview from me here.

In the end, i finished.

Hi, Bastian...

Actually, I had realized that going three-wide on the run down to the Para might be overly aggressive at this early point in the race and backed off to give you room on the left.  Unfortunately, in just reviewing the replay cap, I am not visible in your mirrors and you couldn't have known that you had virtually half of the track width to play with.  Pity.

Hi Doni,

exactly Wink

I knew you were out there somewhere in the dead angle, not where and went to much to the right. Sad
