SUMMARY
In this race, as often is the case in the Historic Trophy, survival is the priority. The start of the race is clean, and the running order stays the same. On first lap, Doni drops from 5th to last after bumping the hay bails. Tim has to retire on lap 3 after getting stuck in a hedge. Tristan has an off on lap 3. He gives the lead to Sam, and rejoins the track in 4th place. Axel\'s engine lets go on lap 4. The battle between Sam and Greg was great to watch. Sam runs wide on last corner of lap 7, and gives the lead to Greg temporarily. Greg loses the lead to Sam at the slow left hander that starts you up the hill. Tristan overtakes Greg at the same point on lap 10. Tristan also overtakes Sam in the last corner of lap 10. There is an incident on lap 11 between Sam and Tristan taking out both drivers. Greg\'s engine lets go at the same time, but he is able to coast to the line to gain two positions. Andreas takes the lead on lap 12, and is the sole finisher of the race. Congrats to Andreas for the victory!
All of the drivers complied with the chassis selection rules for this round.

Lap 2 - The right hand sweeper turn following the MTS - Kurve - Doni makes two attempts to overtake Fran. On the first attempt, Doni pulls along side on the first long straight. Doni is cautious, and he brakes early for the MTS - Kurve. On the straight after the MTS - Kurve, Doni tries to pull alongside Fran again. Doni does not have much overlap on the straight, but makes up ground just before corner entry. Doni has about 50% overlap at the sweeper, and most of the moderators agreed that it was enough for him to claim the racing line. Doni\'s nose was even with Fran\'s roll bar. Doni stays tight to the right hand side of the track. Fran is not able to see Doni, and Fran turned in to the corner as he normally would. Fran\'s right rear makes contact with Doni\'s left front. The contact flips Fran upside down, and he has to retire. Doni is able to continue. The limited lateral view in GPL makes incidents of this type very likely. However this incident could have been avoided if Fran had stayed on his side of the track. If in doubt, drivers should always leave room.
Doni - Did a good job making your presence well known before committing to an overtake move. You stayed on your side of the race track leaving room for Fran. You had just enough overlap for a legitimate overtake. Your only fault is that you may or may not have posted an angry comment on the forum after the race; only to change the message to \"no comment\" an hour later.
Fran - Did a good job leaving space for Doni on the straight. You were not able to see Doni in your mirrors before the turn. As a general rule, if you are not able to see the car in your mirror, then drivers should always leave room.
Simple Side by Side contact: Normal Penalty 1 Place. In a corner, after a legitimate overtaking attempt the cars end up side by side. One driver moves over instead of staying on their own side of the track. Contact is made. Penalty for driver that moves over. Fran is the driver that reported the incident, and he had to retire from the contact. So the one place penalty is reduced to a warning.

Lap 11 – Queckenberg Kurve - Last Corner – Sam misses the 200 brake marker board. Braked too harshly in desperation, locking the brakes and hit the back of an innocent Tristan. Tristan and Sam become stuck in the haybail and both retire.
Simple Rear End Shunt: Penalty 1 Place - The victim made no mistakes and was driving their normal line at normal speed. The shunter had lost control on the approach to the braking zone and consequently braked later than intended.
