Moderator's Report

The race finished rather much as it started with Tristan winning from pole (collecting fastest lap along the way) & Rob\'s Cooper 2nd after starting from P2. Roo broke the sequence by starting 5th but taking the last podium spot.

Season 29 Professionals Trophy – Round – Jops Siffert

The penultimate round of the 65 series moves to ‘Jops Siffert’, a fantasy track in the Swiss mountains. Lovely graphics & a good lay-out for racing. Also note this is a left handed-track.

Robert leads the championship, without having won a race but having stuck with the Cooper in every round. Once dropped scores are accounted bot FMG & Cookie are well positioned to challenge.

Managed to put together a setup, starting from the Hockenheim set, and, after a run in Q, the race was going well. I started to get too hot (like my tyres had done after 5 laps), so I took off my cardigan on the front straight. However, in doing so, I botched my entry to T1 as I grabbed the wheel again, before spinning off on the outside 'kerb', just like Webber did in Korea 2010. Three wheels and third place lost - there went the podium..

But it gave me some time to think, so I tweaked the set and uploaded it to the GPLTD! Not actually done that since I was barely negative and even then probably just in the 67s Tongue.

Good quali with a PR. After start T1 was compromised since Tris and I were alongside, and Axel could take profit getting by. Sadly Axel went off after the jump, after that couldn't manage to stay with Tristan. Made too many little mistakes and the tires got too hot losing grip. Still a solid race, but simply no chance in the Cooper against a driver of Tristan's calibre...

To me it's a real shame Tim didn't attend the race, since he was the main championship contender...it's still far from over since I have to drop more points, Axel and Tim right in contention; but my target must be at least P2 at Mosport to keep things in own hands Wink

Grats Tris, good pace and race, well done Roo and finishers...

Quali went as expected, some way off my pb but using a race approach rather than a hotlap approach to qualify.
I got off the line well & could see no-one alongside me entering T1 then Clive came to find the apex & we had contact. I got away with it, no damage, not sure how Clive faired. Sorry for being there Clive, glad you survived.

I got caught out at the jump early on but spun without contact with the fence. Then had Dean on my tail but I managed to pull away. Was lucky to get p3 with Iestyn's accident. No way I could keep up with him.

Was not looking forward to this race as I considered it a track where keeping it clean was impossible but it is an excellent layout, great flow.

Grats all finishers.

Yep, that was me at T1  Undecided

I thought I had got quite a good start in the rice burner and usually I would glance at prib to check on gaps etc before turning in. But, T1 here requires total commitment and I was already close to the car in front and did not want to take my eyes from the action ahead. Needless to say there were a few choice expletives regarding my trip into the long grass, aimed more at my bad luck than anything personal Roo.

So, from last place it was going to be a long slog to get any real points. Things got worse when I came across David recovering from a spin and we touched...another trip into the grass.
Add one over ambitious jump and a spin and I was a long way back, getting occasional glimpses of cars ahead  Sad.

A long lonely race from there to the flag, gradually picking up places as others suffered misfortune until I was up to 5th. Which upon reflection was probably about where I deserved to be on pure pace.

Grats to Tris and Robert who were as usual very quick...and to Roo for keeping it clean ( except for T1 lol  Roll Eyes ) and smooth to the end.
