Yes I was a bit gutted - hoisted on my own petard as they say. I tried to adjust the boost to save fuel twice, thinking that I had enough time in front of Frex, and slammed it into the wall on both occasions. Eventually ran out of fuel and hit esc to the pits and contemplated sitting it out but decided to rejoin.

@ Shark, the car is a bit of a handful but worth trying to master imo (and we'll be down to 6 on the grid Huh).

The cars on no boost feel fine and normal, but at 100% the become a caricature of themself. Tyres can't cope and the brakes feel nonexistent.

Still, had a fun race with FMG again. He had a better start and was quicker at the beginning and end. I ran 100% boost first half of the race and saw my engine go yellow. But unlike other games, where that doesn't matter, as long as it doesn't explode. In AC I think you start to lose performance. I heard strange noises at least and car didn't feel as fast anymore  Tongue

Unfortunatly I can't make next week due to work, so you are forced to join next week Simon  Grin. And I agree on your truck point of view, but let's not let MJ's work go to waste and let it die before it is even born.

I'm on holiday for the next 2 Wednesdays anyway so can't join even if I was able to drive it.

Sorry to Mark for rogering you very hard up the nether regions. I did wait for you but obviously that put us both 30+ seconds behind.

Surprised it took you to lap 10 to work out you weren't on full boost. I did drive past you twice on the straight like you were pedaling without an engine! Figured that would have been a clue.  Kiss Wink

I presumed my front and rear end damage made my car slower down the straights, as experienced in other AC races, but yes really only myself to blame for not fiddling with the boost settings earlier. Got too many things on the go in RL at the moment!

Considering I still qualied 3rd on stock boost with a 2:00, I might have challenged for pole with some tweaking on the long straight..d'oh!  Roll Eyes Embarrassed

As for attendees, where are the regulars?  Animal Ed, Picnic, Spanner, ChrisR, Jos Verstappen etc? Not around or just not interested? We normally bag around 10-11 drivers though been so quite on here last few weeks they may have drifted off somewhere else  Undecided  Advert at Kunos attracted bugger all as usual  Sad

I still maintain you need to offer something people really want, e.g. GT3 series, to attract the masses. These niche series are of no interest to the masses I'm afraid.

You can use autohotkey for boost on the steeringwheel Turbo hotkey set for G27's button 7 & 8. This one starts with 50% turbo and you can go down with button 7 and up with 8.
Right click on 'Turbo hotkey' and 'save link as' anywhere you like. Just start it before going to race with turbo cars.

No, it's just this place. Core attracted 27 drivers just for a fiat 500 race!...niche enough?  Sad

Erik, ta for tip on the turbo  Smiley

The Fiat 500 is a drive-able small touring car that will provide good close racing that most AC racers are familiar with as it's heavily used in the single player stuff versus a super car with too much power, not enough grip and brakes that barely do anything. Hmm. It might be a desirable real world combo but not for actual racing in the virtual world we "live" in.

But yes it mainly is "this" place. Gizmo has given up on anything but administering SRou as he's only interested in iRacing so it's hardly any wonder it's turned into a ghost town.

Still a little front wheel drive clown car  Grin doesn't do it for me or I would be racing in that series too.

Your missing the point a bit on the Lambo, it's only a loose cannon if you try and race it at 90-100% boost. I expect only a pro race driver could keep that on the track over a lap. At normal boost its a great car with controllable oversteer and good power and brakes, you just can't corner and brake extreme late like a gt3 car. The brakes admittedly struggle on the extreme speeds achievable with top end boost.

I agree and I wouldn't drive it on my own. But put 20+ of them on the track and suddenly you've got some good racing going on.

What's the point in boost if you don't use it!

Personally I'm not a fan of "street" cars full stop, I like racing racing cars.  Smiley

Not desperately excited by these cars ( not driven them yet either Roll Eyes ) but real life has been getting in the way the last couple of weeks. As for RRE I can't see why it's getting such love, and I've more or less given up on it, so AC was going to be my only racing fix. I'm not able to race next week but I will be back.

If you wanna do AC, Pete, join me on Sunday nights for Core's races.

I've also signed up to do the United Racers League GT3 series on Tuesday nights so maybe you could do that one too.

Are there spaces available at core then? I'll join in after Easter if so. I can't do Tuesday nights, other commitments I'm afraid.

I'm sure there will be as people tend to disappear in any series after round 1 and Darren said he would start removing people who sign up but dont attend. You've got to sign up quickly either way! There should be space for the race on the 27th as I withdrew from that one due to holiday. :-)
