Mid-pack qual as I expected, good clean start saw me gain a place or two, start hunting down Ronnie, takes several laps but he goofs, no idea which way he was going to go but he didn't go anywhere and I ran right into him. D'oh. Collision puts me on my roll hoop (natch), wait for everyone and her little dog to go by, reset s&g chase down Bas (? I think, might have been JP) who was having a really good quick consistent run, finally take good advantage of a small error on his part and get past.

And that's when the stupid engine stopped. Bah. GL to those still in it.

Really fun track, had some good racing in the practices, hope to see it again (hint).

Sorry you could not avoid me when you came across my spun car Dean. I find that a tricky corner to be honest and I saw quite a few people goofing at the same spot. Some great racing with Andreas in particular on melting tyres but we could not catch the leading trio. Grats to Tristan, Greg and Rob. Good turn out again but room for a few more next time. See you all at the next one.

Congrats Tristan and Rob! That was a good race. I got a little erratic at times and almost hit Tristan once. I'm glad I was just careful enough to not cause any real problems. I did much better than I expected.

Rob was able to use Tristan's tow for a while, while I used his. Once Rob made a mistake that made a pass easy, I was by. I was able to use Tristan's tow for most of the remaining laps. It was difficult to keep up, even with the tow.

Tristan made a few mistakes but never enough to give me any real chance of beating him. I'm lucky Rob had fallen back before the end. I made mistake braking and had to use the wall to slow the car down on the penultimate lap. If Rob was behind me then. I would have lost the position. I have my doubts I could have broke away from Rob without Tristan's tow.

It appears I'm getting to where I can drive the 65s decent now. I'm still not real familiar with them so I don't have a great deal of confidence in my consistency.

Shame my wheelstand broke and I had my wheel loose all of a sudden...

That's bad news. I hope it can be repaired/replaced easily.

Thanks guys for the practice and the race.

In quali had a good lap and was on the front row, not bad for the BT7 and regarding my prep.

First half of the race was fun, but of course no chance in the BT7 against a driver of Tristan's calibre in the Lotus 33. Made a few mistakes and couldn't hold of Greg since I drove the rear wheels off the car, and just managed to save the car...to be fair Greg could have easily overtaken me earlier; actually twice with a lot of overspeed in the Lotus, but he simply waited for me to make a mistake, which I did  Wink

Halfway the race had used up more than half the fuel, and had to manage tires and fuel, now and then tried to do a fast lap but couldn't put the sectors together for a low/mid31...in the last lap the fuel pressure dropped and ran out of fuel...

Grats Tris, and an excellent race by Greg, who has not so much xp with this mod...great to see you are back on form and improving again! Smiley Well done finishers, also good pace by Ray in the BT7...commiserations to the non-finishers, in particular Axel, what a bummer... Sad

Very tough race, just had done an other race before this...(where I also didn't take enough fuel)  Shocked Fun track, but I'm dreading the BRM for Sunday since this track is a tireburner with the sweeping rollercoaster turns...

First time on this track I had quite and interesting qualifying, but the layout is simple so acceptable lap times came early. I just lacked that hundred lap to be in the midfield Smiley

Still it was an okay race, even with that contact with Bastian (sorry!), but halfway through the race I had to retire again due to family reasons.

Congrats to the winner and all finishers!

Thanks to the admins for this fantasy track. We have lots of great fantasy tracks, they deserve more league races Smiley

I usually don't bother with fantasy tracks  whistling but this is an interesting track with some tough corners.

I had done a few laps to set the gear ratios & learn the track but the back of the grid was expected. I nearly quit at half distance from fatigue (had also raced beforehand) but decided to hang in there & really get to know the track. Ended up chasing Andreas & Doni at the end & caught with a couple to go. I felt I forced Andreas to take a wider line than usual into the 1st turn on the last lap which caused him to spin so I tried to give him the place back at the line, but misjudged it by a few thousandths, sry Sad

Pleased to break into 1m31's (even by only a thousandth!) & to have finished the race.
Grats to all finishers & thanks to admins  thumbup1

Hi,

first time on the track...difficult to drive. I was choosing kyalami setup, probably not the best choice, was managing only around 1:33. Fights with Dean, Doni, Jani in the beginning. Jani, we chose very different lines and i think it was our both fault, sorry from me as well. Dean was fighting me down when his engine exploded, then it was very lonly for me.

Best Regards,
Bastian

Sorry to have missed this - I think I got something in my eye at work and had pretty major irritation from what ever it was.
Went to bed at 8 and it was better by morning, I'll catch you all for the championship round on Sunday  Smiley

After that good battle with Ronnie I was wondering where the heck you came on so fast on me. That was what really got my Attention away.  Wink
No need for saying sry, was just allright!  thumbup1 The better who deserves the place.
