Top man Pete, see you all in a while.  Smiley
So annoying AC doesn't let you join the server until bookings over so you can practise with others, should let you in as soon as your booked!

Those first couple of laps were great fun  Grin
Quite glad the cars were so entertaining to drive as Ed simply tootled off up the road once he was fully past me - wish I'd thought of the 'longer gears' approach to increasing rear grip as well now!  Roll Eyes

On an unrelated side note has anyone considered the Metalex/Easter trophy cars for a fun race/mini series?
I tried them over the weekend and they're a blast to drive, slightly quicker than the Lotus 25's but with a load more grip which might appeal to some  Cool
Link is here for those who are interested  Smiley

Did we all get turfed off the server whilst chatting at the end? I seemed to lose connection mid typing. Didn't get a chance to thank those that attended.

Must say I felt dis heartened when only 6 turned up  Sad makes me wonder if it's worth the effort. Thought this combo might at least attract 10 racers. Huh

Couldn't get near my normal pb tonight, car felt a lot less controllable than I'd felt it previously. Seems I missed a trick with the longer ratios too  Embarrassed thought the zingier short ratio was best to go for but tonight I just found it unsettled the car too much under hard braking.
A silly cold tyre spin on lap 1 left me at the back from 3rd  Roll Eyes and then I spent the whole race trying to get past Chris's 'widebody' Escort  Grin. I was around 1-2 secs faster a Lap but couldn't get past for anything I tried.
Also clipped him twice so sorry for that.
Finally with about a lap to go and worn tyres I got past round the outside of a corner! Finished a lowly 5th

Was worried about my ping so the plan was to try pull away and see what next because I don`t want my lousy connection to spoil the race.
For next I`ll try with vpn because ping problem is only with British located servers ...

Well, that thing with gearbox ...
When car have fixed ratios and you can only play with final, I end up with too long gearbox simply because of trying to match gears for corners.
With flappy paddle shifting this is not "a must" because you can easily shift up/down mid corner but not with H shifter.

On this track, 3rd gear for Scheivlak I didn`t want to shift up or down before Renaultbocht.
Also, last corners combo (Mitsubishibocht and Bosuit) all in 3rd shifting in 4th on exit ...

The biggest headache was the brakes because, what was fine yesterday, today was awful.
61 from yesterday simply didn`t work so I end up with 63.

Anyway, it was fun.

There is a 300 sec timer that starts when the winner finished. It was simply that expiring I think.

Fun events are always less well attended. There is also competition elsewhere every other week and this was their week on I think.

Maybe my hunch to not race was right after only getting in one decent (for me) qualifying lap, all the rest having an excursion to the gravel. During the race Mark made a small mistake in the first lap which ended up a big mistake as he ended up behind me. I had fitted extra wide flared arches to the car btw. It was inevitable that there was going to be contact as Mark was inches off my rear bumper all the time, so an unexpected dab on the brake, even with Mark's lightening reactions, was not going to end well. Mark got past in the penultimate lap but by this time he was miles behind the car in front. Mark your frustration was palpable! I shall be watching the replay to see how you guys could maintain so much speed, I think my lines were good, my setup was a bit fudged but overall I think it was because I couldn't work out how these cars handled. During my practice (not on sim server) I was getting low .02's but struggled during the race to get within 2s of that, but you guys all managed, I obviously need more practice so more of the same please Shocked

Was going to try and use Portimao next week for a fun race then start the BPR series week after that. Amy suggestions for cars to use at that hilly technical track? Can use Escorts again or something else

The only thing that is going to make me come back is a proper series with the same cars every week of a racing standard. I hate road cars and I hate old cars.  Grin

lol... er yeah what he said, the last bit anyway.

I'm enjoying racing elsewhere i'm afraid. I've tried to stay loyal to this site for some time but feel i need to get my fix elswhere.

Tbh Being that most of you race at Core on sundays for sometime, even when we ran AC here. Critising people for not supporting this site is hardly fair. Just saying...
