I know that there are some who think the different characteristics of the cars causes problems in the braking areas.
...
For the 66 championship, we could reserve the 2L to the 4 first drivers on the championship, then the 2,4L/2,5L and 2,7L to the 4 following drivers and for the rest (from position 9 until the last one) they could use the 3L !

I don't think that is a very good idea. The BRM P261 2 litre is much faster than the BT11 Climax 2.5 for example. The McLaren M2B 3 lt is much slower than the BRM P261. Maybe it's best to use some kind of chart which cars are the fastest, maybe a GPLRank lap times chart on a generic Papyrus track like Silverstone.

Yes, you're right.
Maybe, Silverstone is not the best choice, as it is a very fast track.
I would prefer Zandvoort or Rouen with a mixed of fast and slow zones.
In fact, we could create 3 Groups of cars, as we did in the past for 66 championship, but mixing 2L and 3L.

I had 3 groups in my mind, as Dave suggested, but 4 groups may work better  Cheesy

I used the aggregate time of the aforementioned Mr Cloyd for all the 66 rank tracks. Wink

A good handicap system can bring more drivers.  When a system for championship leaders and points is used, you must add up their points.  Correct points need a Moderators report.  This becomes complicated, and the last time, I think the leaders made their own Moderation, to make their own handicap, for the last races?  Not ideal, and best to understand this before you start.  euro

Good to know I'm not the only one Martin  smartass smartass smartass

We can but hope they come up with something better than last time.
