My connection on Plus.net today has been horrible, some pages load some dont, some partly load but then stuck on some ad, or the picture server.

Just moaning...

Cant connect to R3E, some forums etc...

I was looking through their forum and found someone quoting their DNS servers, i hadnt known what they are, your always told to set it automatically, so have been using ones i'd been given from my first provider, propably over 10 years ago!

Changed my router to direct to the proper DNS servers and gave my router a reset. Seemed to have sorted it!!

'i'm with Plusnet and on monday seemed to get reset alot but it wasnt just that, it would become unresponsive for a few minutes then windows would tell me its lost connection. This happened almost every half an hour but my PCs seemd to have got a bit stuck. Since then, With my laptop if i visit bbc.co.uk as its on my drop down it directs me to

http://192.168.1.1/rpDslDisconnetWarn.html

Which a holding page from my router saying there is no DSL connection, you can try resetting it or access the settings. Now i was trying varios sites to see if things were taking time to load or it had gone wrong and had visited bbc.co.uk and actually got that screen. So why would it remember the page?

ITs the same with my PC, if i try and visit this site i get the same page from the router, but its been saved agaisnt the original IP details.
